Off of Reddit, but I agree with this.

Torts is going to be out of here sooner than later. He keeps playing head games, and that is not what either Jones or DB want. Jones is talking accountability and making the Flyers a destination for players to want to come again...creating an atmosphere and team environment... the class of the league. Playing head games and developing trust issues with your starting lineup doesn't seem to fall in line with that. Anyone who has seen Torts' act before knows he is already starting to wear on the players and it is only a matter of time before GMDB and POHO get tired of defending Torts and his vision.

All the information available and comments from interviews with Jones and Briere, indicate that are completely on board with everything that Tortorella is doing. I agree that he wears on players over time but that's not in the cards right now.

Would any coach of a true contender..the Avs, Vegas, etc....bench 2nd line players for whole games? Would they scratch a top 6 forward for grinders? No, they wouldn't. It may not be this season, but I don't see Torts making it through his contract.

I don't know but I know they wouldn't bench a player who has had a strong season for one mistake that wasn't that egregious. I hope you're right about Tortorella.

I live in Western Canada and have seen his act in Vancouver...he only lasted 1 year, and fought with Trevor Linden....basically Vancouvers Bobby Clarke as to his place in team history. He wears his welcome out fast. He almost has stages...where he seems cocky and sure, then argumentative, then he starts skipping press confrences, etc, and then he gets fired. he seems like he is in the argumentative stage right now. Give us a 10 game losing streak, and the press conferences will start to be skipped.

How can the front office agree with benching/ scratching the list of players they have, and giving others a free pass? I don't think they do agree, but the last thing they need is a public disagreement with the coach on the direction of the team. Stay the course, make some moves, let Torts be Torts, and he will force their hand sooner than later. How could Farabee not help the team last night?

Lets be honest, with the exception of Vancouver. He doesn't wear out his welcome fast. If the front office doesn't agree, they're not showing any signs of that.
