Why can't they just tell us Cates' injury? It's ridiculous that they won't just come out and say what's going on. Every other professional league does. Hell, the NFL tells you almost right away most times unless an MRI or X-ray is required. It's just annoying and stupid to me.
Just watched some of the Rags/Wings game. Biggest takeaway is watching those two PPs versus the Flyers hot mess of a PP. Something needs to be done. I know the Rags and Wings have more skill, but there is no excuse for looking as disorganized as the Flyers do. At least get pucks and bodies to the friggin net if you're just gonna wing it!
ESPN sucks! They can't utilize ESPN2 to show NHL games? No, they want to make you pay for ESPN+/Hulu. Gee, let's show women's college BB rather than NHL games. WTF! Gripes for the night. Thanks!
Speaking of ESPN. They just came out with their Power Rankings for week 13 in the NFL. Everyone ready? They read... San Fran, Dallas, Buffalo, Baltimore, KC, Miami and the Eagles in at #7. I guess I have to update this. I think someone was clownin Eagles fans on FB cause I had to check the ESPN site and they look nothing like this. My guess is that this is from earlier in the season and someone posted this to stir up Birds fans. I thought it was strange that anyone would put the fraud Dolphins ahead of the Eagles. |

They did, in this case. He broke his foot blocking a shot on Saturday in the second period against the Islanders. Finished the game (didn't take off his skates).

Poehling and Laughton trading places. That puts Ryan where he belongs. He scored a hat trick and the shootout winner in his 1st NHL game. I knew it was a mirage. He’s a serviceable 4th liner. Now that Torts got him going maybe he can get Deslauriers and Hathaway going.

My bad (in this case). I didn't hear that although I heard that it was speculated that it was from blocking a shot which usually means a broken foot.

IMO he has looked ok which is good. Not standing out in the usual WTF are you doing way. He did make a nice rush coming below the net and out the other side for a good shot on goal against Carolina.
I am wondering if they will try him on the PP like he was used in Buffalo for years.

Ha ha, I just saw on the latest Kelce brother podcast that Travis wants to put on the skates and play with Bedard. Jason said that Tyreek Hill would fly up and down the rink! Ummm...does he know how to skate? Cracks me up! It's like that Jaylen Ramsay several year ago, said he could train for 6 months and become an NHL player. He got awfully quiet when he actually put on a pair of skates. Eh what? 6-2 Devils tonight. Thanks! |

Keith Jones on tanking:
We’ve been clear about that. We’re never going to tank a game; players don’t learn from losing. They learn from winning and being in an environment where you’re attempting to win every game and that’s not going to change here. I wouldn’t want it any other way. And how many we win is, who knows? But the fact is, we’re going to attempt to win every game and anyone with that line of thinking is not thinking the way that we are. I respect people’s opinions and the way that they view things, but our view has been, collectively the same, and that’s that we’re not going to not attempt to win a game.
Hence, Torts is coaching the way he is coaching. |

He has played well, but I would like to see him play more minutes and move up to the 2nd pairing. |

The coach is ALWAYS there to win. If the Flyers wanted to tank, then there would have been a fire sale in the summer. There was not. They dealt away three guys that opened up 3 spots that kids coming up could compete for.
I just hope as we go along here, the Flyers do try and win every game….but please let’s do it while leaning on the younger guys.
Come the end of March do I want to see Atkinson on the pp or Cutter Gauthier? |

Tortorella is coaching the only way he knows how to coach. Which is very limited in today's game. What Jones doesn't understand is. That you can rebuild and play and develop young players. While playing to win on the ice within the game. Rebuilding and properly developing a team for the future, is not playing to lose.
The Flyers continue to piss on us and tell us it's raining. I don't buy it. How about you? |

In the CORPSERATE world, if you can convince someone that a blanket service will include all of your team's games, and then not provide it, and then not suffer any penalty due to lying, that's a GREAT deal.
Ya know, CONTRACTS, small print, mediation.
So do I hate ESPN, not really. I despise the NHL for allowing chicanery through their allowances for devious BS, Satan's performance art, in order to fleece the fans.
Follow the money.
