so who are our best players after 20 games?
not an easy question.
Monty, mention honorable à Primeau
Guhle, mention honorable pour Barron
Gallagher, Anderson (yes yes, even avec pas de but).... that's about it

- fidopro

Monahan was on fire for maybe 12 games then slowed down a bit. Then again, they did not give the guy much to work with
with RHP,Newhook and Dach out, he should be the 2nd line centre and not Dvorak

if they go with Caufield, suzuki, Armia on the first line

2nd line would be : Slaf, Monahan, Ylonen (but they could go with Gallagher there as well)

Matheson has a lot of pressure being the leader of the young d

same thing with Suzuki, not getting much help again this season, with fans blaming him for the lack of talent around him.

i like non fiction. i like books about bands and sports. i had a ton of books about hockey. i had gretzky's book and lindros' book, and old weird stan fischler books and poop. all those books about the "weirdest thing that ever happened in hockey" and stuff like that.

they gave me like 4000 bucks for my CDs and books.

rebuilding my CD collection is impossible but i guess i'll build up a new shelf of books as time passes.

his attitude as a pro is worth a mention imho, despite being sent to Laval he's reportedly been a strong veteran presence there and has been putting in the effort, where a lot of guys would've sulked and not really give a poop.

oh sure, A+ for the attitude, but Armia did not play enough games to qualify imo.

yeah you had told me about your huge CD collection but I wasn't aware you had a bunch of books too. can't those be replaced though? and I forget, were you getting money instead of those CDs?

and lastly, what is the weirdest thing that ever happened in hockey?

is it this guy?

well that was kind of the point, he's remained a positive presence despite not seeing much NHL action lol.

some books can be rare (out of print) or a have a certain value about them, be it $$ or more emotionnal. Sometimes getting this or that edition can be tricky.

i could try to replace them but it would take forever and some of the books were literally vintage books stolen from some library in the 40s and poop like that. if i saw something like that that looked cool at a book store in philly or something, i'd usually buy it, read it, and then mix it in with the other books.

in this case, i do get the money for the CDs, yes. so that is a relief at least.

the weirdest thing book was a bunch of stories about wacky poop that had happened over the history of the league. i bought that one when i was a kid. when we had bookstores and shopping malls (i bought it at a bookstore in a shopping mall!). i hadn't read it in years. i don't even remember what the wacky poop was. it was mostly real old stories, iirc.

oh, I get it. I was assuming you could always get a more recent print of the same books but I guess it sorta defeats the purpose of it being a collectible vintage book that you're interested in actually owning.

Strange But True Hockey Stories by Stan Fischler? I read that back in the late 70s. There was a baseball one too.

I loved those two books. I must have checked them out of library a dozen times each. Long out of print, I assume.
