Thanks, Bill. The Pens late goal came about due to Tippet trying to skate the puck out of the zone instead of just clapping off the boards and down the ice. That turnover turned into the goal quickly after that. Even though, I thought Tippet played a good game. I also think Frost played well.

Speaking of turnovers, I thought Sanheim had a very rough night in that department. He wasn't charged with any giveaways last night but I counted four turnovers off failed clearing opportunities.

Apart from his bad penalty early in the first period, I thought Frost had a decent game. Offensively, Jarry stopped him at the post in the first period, and made a save on Foerster on a PP chance Frost teed up for him. I just saw that Letang goal. Perhaps the Flyers have found their net front presence guy on the PP cause that was a perfect tip by Sanheim! He is now a -9 in his last 3 games. Ouch!

I think this speaks to the crux of Torts' problem with Frost.

Nice game from Ersson as well. Came up big when he had to. Shame there was two bad deflections. Gotta love getting the W vs the Pens.

Sanheim has had a rough couple of weeks. It's mostly subpar play but it's also the pairing is starting to get exposed. Neither Sanheim nor York are legitimate top pairing defenseman. Yet they have to play as the top pair. I thought it would happen sooner in the season than it has but it's an issue moving forward.

If Frost would just get his faced punched in more torts would love him

I get Torts giving Staal a chance to get his game back but it is time to let Zam play, torts letting Staal play is like Torts tanking. Do I think Staal has a place during playoffs, probably, he needs to be better but he is more built for that grinder game the refs allow in the playoffs

I mean Torts big compliment was Staal gets in the way, he is not even doing that right now, unless you consider getting in the way of the Flyers breakout.

Back in junior hockey, Frost uncharacteristically snapped on someone and got a late-season suspension for a pretty nasty slash. It cost him the scoring championship.

But there was a Flyers figure who LOVED that he did it. Said he hoped Frost did it again a time or two in the pros because opponents would give him more space. I don't really agree with THAT.

But specific to last night's puck tip into the net a second after the horn, I didn't mind it one bit.

As Sanheim has come down I actually think York has been better as of late. Always going to be a challenge for this team with no top pair, those matchups these guys are going to have bad nights but Sanheim has been bad for a pretty decent stretch now. Marc staal has absolutely no business in the lineup. Hilarious that people on here keep mentioning his run with Florida. An older player found some gas in the tank and everything seemed to go right for that team at the time. Staal is cooked.

Yes, the trend between York and Sanheim is opposite. Sanheim is trending down while York is trending up. I don't think anyone expected Sanheim's early offensive tear to continue. Including me. It's his puck management and defensive play that is the issue lately. I agree on Staal. No reason to play him in my opinion.

Coots can barely skate out there. Can’t imagine what this looks like in a couple years

I wonder why tippet didn’t get benched for failing to clear leading up to the tying goal? That’s not benching worthy torts? I have no problem with the benching as long as it’s applied fairly

Actually from what I have seen Foerster is just fine when it comes to physicality. He has 17 hits compared to 11 hits between Brink and Frost combined. Kid has some jam to his game! Coots and Atkinson have a combined 9 hits between them, but I guess they get a pass due to coming back from serious injuries.

Last season, Frost stepped out of his comfort zone and averaged north of a hit per game. (Look it up if you wish). For the much bigger Foerster to have 17 hits in 22 games doesn't say much (nor does it have to).

Apropos of nothing... every time I see Foerster in a post-game situation with the press, I am struck by how young he looks... earlier in the season I would always think he looked like an advanced Mights on Ice participant -- and not the Might of the Night, I might add -- but I'm not sure if it is my getting used to him, or maybe it's his getting, and projecting more confidence as he becomes more accustomed to the situation, and feeling more comfortable; I'm thinking the latter... In any event, after all is said and done, we'll probably look back at this baby face period of his career and laugh at how young he was. FWIW 🤔

I guess I'm impressed that Foerster is that physically engaged as such a young player. I mean, just cause he's bigger doesn't necessarily mean that he would be more physically engaged. Just ask Kevin Hayes. He's what, 6'5" 220 and he has 9 hits in 23 games this season.

It's early but Foerster has a chance to be a really good player. His all -around game is already solid. He has a great shot and really, it's surprising that he hasn't scored more goals.

Let the kids play, Frost will continue to get better, that is his MO. It happened when he first hit the AHL, then the NHL and he is getting his game back after ego boy sat him for 1/2.

Put Staal in a stall, only play ND when a Neanderthal is needed and see what you have.

CF seems to have hit on Tyson, brink and cam, hoping he hits on Toomuola. Fans deserve his draft record to be stellar after the rest of the poop he did.

It is enjoyable watching the Pens have nothing even close to a Foerster or even a Tip or Farabee.
