Ha ha, just wandered over to the Pens blog as I tend to do on occasion, and they are pining for Sully to be fired( of course) and still complaining about Hexy!!
On another note, I heard the interview of Michael Del Zotto on spittin chiclets the other day. They asked him about Torts. He said that he is one of the most misunderstood men in hockey. Also said that he really cares about his players and that he wished that he had played for him his entire career. This current Flyers team really appears as if they are miserable playing for Torts! Eh what?
Ah, what the hell, one more note. The Canes are getting spanked by the Oil (yeah, they appear to be back) tonight and if the Flyers somehow manage a win tomorrow night they will be back in second place in the Patrick division! Won't be a gimme by any means though as the desert dogs have won 5 in a row and have some good young talent. Apparently they play a very fast game, so it will not be easy. |

He has survived with no playoff series wins since 2018.

I also watched the Chicklets interview. Not the first player to credit Torts either. It’s funny how certain people complain about him 24/7 on here yet men who actually play professional hockey love him. And it’s not just a few . |

I think you could make along list of players who are thriving under Torts. The miserable list would be very short. |

Did Del Zotto say this or is this your commentary? (Honest question)

I watched it, Del Zotto said it. It’s a good watch. There’s another part of the interview where Del Zotto talks about a player who got on Torts bad side. It was when he was coaching the Rangers. |

yea, saw some Pens posts, a few about the cap. When Crosby was in his prime players wanted to be in Pitt, that fades as the window closes, they will find it hard to recreate the magic, they do have their cups but it appears they need to think about the cups they won and not contending for one. |

the Flyers were playing with house money so far this season, I think we are at the part now where expectations of making the playoffs will come in. I dont see them as a playoff team but it will be nice to see how the group responds to higher expectations. |

In reality, the Flyers are currently in 5th place in the Metro with the Caps in 2nd, Canes 3rd and Isles 4th.

It's funny, Tortorella has been an NHL head coach for over 20 years. There are many, many players who liked playing for him. Atkinson was very positive about playing for him in the past when he was first hired by the Flyers. There are just as many players that despised playing for him. None of that matters. It couldn't be more irrelevant. |

Wait a second, are you moving off of your proclamation from the other day that you wouldn't discuss hockey with someone you wouldn't have a beer with? Now here you are attempting to engage with me in a hockey conversation. Sure, I'll name 10, right after you name 10. What a fraud you are.

That’s because Torts is honest with them. He doesn’t shy away from confrontation if a player is not doing what he’s asked or if a player is not playing to his potential. A lot of players like that black and white atmosphere….guys also know that by doing the right things they will see the ice more and for some that’s not always the case. |

He did say the other day that Atkinson was fighting it and not playing very good. I know there is this notion that everyone should be treated the same way, but the reality is that’s just not the case. |

I cant really see any signs they are miserable. Intersting for MDZ to say as I doubt he just made it up. |

That was about statements Atkinson made in support of Tortorella before this season.

How is it relevant? Some like him, some don't. It may be to extremes with Tortorella but isn't that the case with every coach? What really matters?
