Cates grew quite a bit as a player last season under Torts, and though he got off to a slow start and is now injured, I look forward to see Cates back at wing and progressing as the year unfolds. Risto and Seeler are playing the best hockey of their careers, maybe not points wise but defensively and consistency. Hart and Ersson are already showing they can be one of the best goaltender duos in the league. Foerster is taking big steps. - jd250
none of that is thriving. |

You saying you are a superhero had nothing to do with what you are claiming here. It had to do with you going off on MJL, and how you are on this board to set the story straight and protect the readers from falseties....I threw it out there sarcasticly, and you agreed that you viewed yourself as a superhero.... - TheFreak
yes, agreed sarcastically also. Sorry you didn't get it. |

Travis Konency had 1 really good season prior to Torts coming here, which was 2019-20 and during that season he had a lot more support.
Torts is the one who gave Sanheim the green light to be more aggressive offensively, which isn’t what he was doing last year or prior seasons.
Prior to this season I’d never even heard of Sean Walker and neither have the numbers.
Going from barely playing to knocking on the door of 30 goals a season is thriving in my opinion. - roenick97
none of what you posted changes what I said. In any way. |

Ok, use whatever word you want. They are better, they are progressing, developing, whatever word you want to use. |

It wasn't one bad season, Sanheim was not good for at least the past two seasons before this one. The biggest asset for Sanheim is his skating and he was not using it nearly enough, and his biggest liability was his weakness in the corners and the slot area, and his rededication to fitness has addressed this. But the biggest change in Sanheim is his mentality, instead of watching hockey out there, he is making things happen or at least trying to. He is not always successful, but at least he is trying. - jd250
lets say that is true, what's the coach have to do with that? does the natural progression of players come into play at all? |

so based off 1 down season out of how many, he was headed in the wrong direction? I call BS on that.
Torts wanted him gone in the worst way. Remember? - hello it's me 2050
I don't think Torts wanted him gone. I think the brass wanted to alleviate a rebuilding team from his 8 year contract. Sanheim responded in the best possible way. |

this is a mediocre team at best during its high point. Sorry that doesn't get me all hard and whatnot.
they will accomplish vert little when all is said and done by the end of the year. The fact the vets are the ones "carrying" the team is even funnier. |

I think the coach has a lot to do with that. It's the coach that evaluates the player and sends the message, and if that coach is successful in getting through to the player, you hope the player responds the right way. To Sanhiem's credit, he did. |

Sanheim was heading in the wrong direction, and I think Torts had a lot to do with Sanheim righting his own ship. - jd250
Why? What did Torts do to convince you of this? I would like it broken down for me, as I have not heard of any 1 on 1 time, extra coaching, or anything that Torts has done. I see Sanheim took the bull by the horns, added muscle and ran with it, but I do not see in any way what Torts supposedly did for you to jump to this conclusion. |

Well, I think Torts is getting the most out of this roster, and that ceiling is a playoff bubble team. Clearly not what any of us want and I'm sure not what Jones, Briere and Torts want either.
I do believe it's good that the Flyers are winning games, but I agree with Russ Cohen on this point, you want the Flyers to win games because of their young players, not veteran players that will probably not be around too much longer. If you look at the recent games the Flyers have won, they have not won them because of Deslauriers, Staal or Poehling, they have won these games because of Hart, Ersson, Tippet, Foerster, TK, Couts, etc. That to me is a really good sign. |

"winning" with vets in a "rebuilding" year is perfect no?
they have won because of the vets not the "young" players. The young players to me have not really taken a step forward. York is playing better so we shall see. |

You haven’t said anything. Saying Konency was a good player could mean a lot of things. There are a lot of good players in the league. |

I ask myself why it took years for Sanheim to get bigger and stronger. Why wasn’t he doing this every year. Maybe he was given ultimatum. |

Why didn't Tortorella right Sanheim's ship during the 82 games of the 22/23 season?

Some of this is correct, and some of it is false. Sanheim has been a solid player for most of his career. It is true that Sanheim did not use his mobility and skating well last year. That was due in part to Sanheim just not playing aggressively enough but also due to the system and style of play that Tortorella installed. Sanheim was much better defensively last year then he has been this season so far. With the caveat that he was playing second pairing last year, versus first pairing and more minutes this season. |

You know, Superschennbros, and that's who you are. When Bill banned you, you were PMing me, trying to have conversations like I was your buddy. Now you're calling me out. What gives with you. This and your response to a reply I made, giving you another chance, is why I don't interact with you.

You constantly tell people you won’t answer there questions until they answer yours . I don’t care what you do, don’t know why you said that. So answer the question, name 10. Talking about frauds, you’re breaking your own rules. What does you will wait and I no longer exist mean lol ? Just remember this, you’re anonymous blowhard on a comment section which there are billions. Put your money where your mouth is and ask EK if you can start a hockey blog on here. Let’s see how you do. I’m guessing not so good . Thanks for the chance. |
