Pretty sure he will be fine. The flyers got severely outplayed in OT. Hart shook off the last goal and was solid in OT. - bird_dog_pa
Some games when you’re not on, you have to battle and he did. |

Don't understand why Atkinson is getting a shift in OT. Clearly not playing well while Farabee, who just continues to make plays, doesn't see the ice. Ristolainen with two shifts. He doesn't have the wheels that Walker has. - MJL
I think it has something to do with who Torts trusts more defensively. Not saying it makes sense. At least they’re not playing two D-men anymore. |

Harts our goalie. I would not hesitate giving him his next contract. He’s young. Goalies age well. Lock him up. Lock down the position for years to come |

Seems like the opposite of the Eagles to me |

Hart will be fine. Just one of those games. The Flyers could've wilted and submitted but they didn't. The kept pushing. The Wings have a ton of talent but their play after the first period was embarrassing. Especially on the Tippett goal as 3 Red Wings just stood there and watched. Ever hear of sealing off the net? - MJL
A Christmas miracle! You are not gloating about the loss. Thank you!

Tortorella is always a defensive first coach. You're on the road, just came back from being down 5-1. Got a point already. That's the time to be aggressive. To attack and go for the win. That's part of why I don't like him.

Have to consider the cap. I can see both sides.

It's perplexing and Torts deserves criticism for his decisions in OT. The team does deserve credit for handling adversity very well. Game before Xmas break, they could have called it a night. There are still holes on this roster, but not quite as many as thought when the season began. Now it is up to Briere to sell off some of those assets at the deadline that are not part of the long term.

Not trying to be hyperbole ….but is Hart the goalie of the future for the Flyers? Or do they see Ersson as the guy? Probably not the night to pose that question…but with Ersson playing so solid for the last 7 weeks, this May become a question in the future. - landros 2
id trade hart for a young buffalo center. Goalie is our deepest spot.

The big holes are still there. They've just gotten away with a lot to this point in the season by playing strong team defense. Water finds its mark eventually.
Owen Tippett, the teams best goal scorer who has net driving wheels. Sees one shift in OT. He's a player that should be double shifted. Don't play not to lose in OT. Play to win. |

Sure, there are still holes, and I still do not believe they will make the playoffs. However, we are seeing improvement with guys we want to fill spots for the long term. They are not a bottom 5 team as thought when the season began. That was the mark. Unless, there is a mass injury crisis, that is not going to happen. Let's see what Briere does over the next few months.

I’m not advocating trading him….but with the cap and the flyers depth with the position I no longer think it’s a for gone conclusion he’s the guy. Honestly that’s a good thing. It means there are other options. In a rebuild it’s all about asset management. |

This team is playoff bound. They are in every game. Barring a couts injury that’s their fate. It will be interesting to see what Danny does at the deadline. They’ll be in a playoff position. I see them standing pat. Even on seeler and Walker. |

I didn't see them as a bottom 5 team. Not with Couturier coming back. I saw them as like around 20-22. Something like that. Add 4-5 all star to elite level players to this team and they might have something.

Using a lot of cap space on a goalie when the team doesn’t have a 1C or 1D on the team or even in system is a bad idea. At best the team ends up like Montreal or the Rangers under Price and Lundqvist. I would take a chance on Ersson and the prospects behind him and save the capspace for center and defense. |

I'll disagree with you on Coots at the beginning of the season he was going to be a guaranteed net positive. Two years off because of back surgery. Much respect to him for coming nearly all the way back. The rest I agree with. That is why it is vital for Briere to sell off guys like Walker and Seeler this deadline to give them the flexibility to gain an elite player potentially. Also, it will be interesting to see how Michkov, Gauthier, Bonk, and even Tuomaala develop may be they can fill some of those holes internally. |

That absolutely has merit. What the Flyers will do comes down to the timeline. Where do they see themselves. They tend to be shortsighted and want to rush things. If they see this being a short rebuild, I think they re-sign Hart. If they don't, makes sense to move him.

You have to identify the core players to build with. Hart will fit into any timeline at 25. He’s a creature of habit. He’s happy here as far as I can tell and as a RFA you can probably lock him up longer term under a real reasonable cap hit. Keep developing the goalie pipeline and your 1B’s can be on 900k contracts. Trade the erssons and keep backfilling with rookie deals |

I don't think the Flyers will pay between 6-7 million/yr to keep Hart.

Hart is at the point where he has UFA leverage. A long term deal is buying UFA years. Rumors are that the starting point is a 7M AAV
