oh for sure he will, but I don't see him winning it.
I am not expecting them to make the playoffs so it is a moot point in my eyes. - TheFreak
Be careful now, this first part of the season the Flyers have had one of the toughest schedules in the league. After this last road trip the beginning of January they are done with their west coast and Canada road trips, and the Flyers have on the easiest schedules the rest of the season. They have a much better than average chance to make the playoffs and if they do, Torts it the JA winner, hands down, and he should win it! No one would deserve it more. |

Tell me why Tortorella is above Tourigny in Arizona? Who is currently in a playoff position? Arizona finished 27th in the league last season. Why is he above Carbury in Washington who finished one spot above the Flyers last season? Washington is currently in a higher spot by points percentage than the Flyers - MJL
Very simple, neither Tourigny or Carbury will have playoff teams by season's end. |

Which is why this latest winning streak is fool's gold, that will only set them back further. Is there any other team in all of sports where a winning streak can actually set the back? - mr4tno
Not necessarily, sometimes teams need reminding of who they are and how they need to play to win games. The Flyers got that lesson last night from a very good Nashville team. |

according to Boucher he barely thought it was a penalty and even surmised that Frost maybe should take some of the blame...Boosh is an absolute tool. Very disappointed. I though he would have been a major upgrade over that other tool, you know, the one running the team.... - mr4tno
I agree with Boucher actually, I thought the Nashville player did try to hold up a bit. I agree with the call but I don't believe it warrants a suspension, unless the player has a history of this sort of thing which I don't think he has. |

I am, by the definition of the award, Torts should win it easily if the Flyers make the playoffs. Remember, the JA is for regular season only, what a team does in the playoffs does not matter, so just making the playoffs with this roster in the early stages of a rebuild is a hell of a coaching job. And yes MJL, I thought Torts deserved the award last season also, because no coach in the league had more of a positive impact on their respective franchises than Torts! - jd250
We know what your fantasy opinion was last year. A person would have to be a complete fool to double down on that opinion. Same as this year apparently. If Arizona and Washington make the playoffs and Vancouver finishes first overall in the league, as are the standings currently. Why should Tortorella win the award easily if the Flyers make the playoffs? |

Torts didn't even deserve a participation award last year...he kept sitting in the press box FFS |

Right, in your fantasy world, only the Flyers will make the playoffs. How silly of me to not realize that you aren't dealing in the factual real world.
You failed to grasp the question. |

In his defense, it was on either the Flyers daily podcast or Snow the Goalie podcast that they discussed this ie: the travel and schedule in the first half to second half, and that they have I believe only 2 starts after this west coast string that starts 5pm or later Eastern. There is some truth to this.

A comparison would have to be made to the other 31 teams in the league to know that the Flyers had one of the tougher schedules.

As of now they do because the metro is the most competitive in the league. You really offer nothing but your own fantasy that you should be gm. |

The metro is trash. And looking around the league there’s a handful of good teams and then a bunch in the middle of the road that aren’t very good |

Two predicted powerhouses in the Devils and the Canes just can't seem to put it together this year. We'll see what happens in the 2nd half.

Where are you getting that Couturier can barely skate? Couturier, for a player who missed almost two years of hockey, has been really good. He is the single biggest reason for the team's improvement. He is only going to get stronger. - MJL
The eye test. He is falling all over the place and always 2 strides behind..."Really good for missing 2 years" is not exactly a glowing endorsement. And he will not get better if Tortorella keeps running him into the ground |

Dude, not everyone has time to be on here 24/7 like you. Fantasy projections? What the hell are you talking about? People that know a helluva lot more about hockey than you do said these things. There is nothing fantasy about it. Do you smoke funny sh!t by any chance? Why do I need to explain why the Flyers making the playoffs would make you sweat? Isn't that obvious oh opaque one? You rip Torts on here day after day. If the Flyers make the playoffs that gives Torts a shot to win that award!! Of course, I'm sure you would find some goofy ass way to spin doctor it. Tell me, why am I here?
- Phillywhiteout
Why do you have to be here 24/7 to document and support your statements with some facts. It doesn't take 24/7 to use google. What are you talking about? You sound like a fool! Yes, it is fantasy. Go back and look at pre-season predictions. See how accurate they are. For anything! Do you know how many of these people that you claim know a hell of a lot more about hockey than me, picked Edmonton or NJ to win the cup? LOL. Could still happen but both are in a fight to just make the playoffs.
Yes, you do need to explain why that would make me sweat. Again, you're acting like a fool.
If we look at some of those pre-season predictions. Washington, Arizona and Vancouver along with the Flyers were all predicted to be in the bottom 10 in the league. So much for their expertise. Again, I'll ask why at this point in time, is Tortorella a favorite for the Jack Adams over those other coaches? Vancouver is 1st overall in the league! Tocchet is the obvious favorite for the Jack Adams at this point in time. Why do I need to explain that to you?
