Panarin is having a season for the ages. When he has the puck I feel like a goal is about to happen every time! Laf Trocheck and him have games where they look like the best line in the NHL, last night being one of them

Last night was an impressive win imo. Even tho they were fairly dominated for stretches, what this team is able to do after losing a game is a very good sign for when the playoffs roll around. They don’t let loses get the best of them and become streaks. Thats a mark of a great team. Also the second game of b2b they are 6-0, and that is just remarkable. I can’t remember a hungrier Ranger team than this one which is another good sign towards winning it all. A couple of tweaks to the roster should hopefully put them over the top, they are so close to having it all imo. Can’t wait for the playoffs I wish they started tomorrow lol

It's been a great ending to 2023 if you're a Rangers fan.

Here's to an even greater 2024.

Prayers for Chytil.

Happy New Year to all of you.

Ton of great points and this team definitely are on a mission.

With that being said if Chytil isn’t coming back this season and Kakko is a wild card. How much cap space do we have if we take those 2 off?

For Chytil, Brooks wrote this: "If Chytil is unable to return during the regular-season, the Rangers, who fell 4-3 to the Panthers on Friday night, would gain approximately $3.8 Million of additional space off the center’s $4.437.500M cap hit to bulk up the roster. Using that money would not preclude Chytil returning for the playoffs."

For Kakko, it's the prorated amount of his $2.1 million contract, I do expect him to be back before the trade deadline.

What a great first half of the season for the rangers. The positives far out way any loses or bad periods. Lots of players stepping up after last years playoff defeat. Looking forward to the rest of the year.

The USA at the wjh looks to be the favorite to win it all. Canada by far the least aggressive team they have had for years. Going to be a struggle to get a medal.
Should be fun to watch the Swedes battle the US

My friend who works for MSG came through. Got me two seats so my 18-year old daughter can go to her first live hockey game and watch Bedard on Thursday

Did a trade with Hayes and Scandella (50%) for Edstrom, Jones and a second rounder

FORWARDS (12)

Centre: Mika Zibanejad ($8,500,000) - Vincent Trocheck ($5,625,000) - Kevin Hayes ($3,571,429) - Nick Bonino ($800,000)
Left Wing: Chris Kreider ($6,500,000) - Artemi Panarin ($11,642,857) - Will Cuylle ($828,333) - Barclay Goodrow ($3,641,667)

Left: Ryan Lindgren ($3,000,000) - K'Andre Miller ($3,872,000) - Marco Scandella ($1,638,000)

GOALTENDER (2)
Igor Shesterkin ($5,666,667) - Jonathan Quick ($825,000)

BUYOUTS (1)
Brad Richards ($0)

DETAILS
Roster Size: 22
Salary Cap: $83,500,000
Bonus Overages: $610,892
Cap Hit: $82,784,345
Cap Space: $715,655
————
I’m going to put Kakko back with Zib and Kreider HOPING 🙏🏻 he becomes worthy of it. Wheeler looks good at times, but when it comes down to it I think he may best suited for the 3rd line. He looks old sometimes. I like the size of a Cuylle Hayes Wheeler line anyway so maybe it would work.

Imo Scandella is a bigger body and more suited for the playoff grind, over Jones

Anyway I think this trade kind of solves most of our issues

Hayes has become a bit underrated. Wouldn’t mind him back at 3C if Chytil is done but he’s got 2 more seasons left after this one. Also, St Louis could very likely catch Arizona for a wild card spot. Will be curious to see where they’re at come the deadline.

I think the fact that Chytil is such a question mark now they may have to get someone with a bit of term, like Hayes. Stl isn’t good enough imo to not look into the future a bit if the Rangers made a call for him. Because if we get a rental this year we’ll potentially be in the same position next year not knowing about Chytil, then we’ll do the same thing next year trading assets for a center. I hate to say it but I don’t think Fil plays again (like Sauer). Nothing has been “good news” regarding him. Really sucks they need him

Pass on Hayes, he was slow when he was here years ago, Im sure he hasnt gotten any faster. Need a third line player with some speed and grit, which isnt Hayes

It’s tempting but think trading him in conference could back fire in a major way. Last thing we need is him standing on his head vs us in the conference finals. Most goalies would be happy to be traded into a starter role, but my guess is that Quick would prefer to remain with the Rangers in his current role. Grew up a Rangers fan, and getting the chance to contribute towards ending a 30 years drought (partially his fault from 2014 ).

This team, as it stands now, will never be about speed. This team is about playing hard, smart... possession hockey. I agree, Hayes isnt a physical player, never was his thing. However, hes got 19 points, which would put him tied for 7th in scoring on this team. Hes one of the best faceoff guys in the league at 56%, and most importantly... I think... only 8 PIM on the season. For 3.5m AAV, I think its pretty good.

Todays NHL is about speed, he doesnt have it and at 31, he will decline more. We would be stuck with him for 2 more years. No thanks

Under 30, fast, productive, physical, good on faceoffs, strong puck play and available...

Yea hold on, lemme pull up this ridiculously long list of players.
