Dach....always hurt

Suzuki....2nd line center

Devorak (sp)......4th line center

Newhook.....winger

Evans.....4th line, or not on a good club's roster.....

Still have too many poor contracts, it is still a few years away.

So when the season began, we figured they'd be better in the standings when the season ended but probably not quite enough to make the playoffs.

They are exactly on pace to do that. Despite losing Dach who looked pretty damn great before getting injured.

So.... why are we supposed to be upset or disappointed?

I think it's way more fun to get on the #Optobus and enjoy the process.

Well Suzuki is on pace for 73 points.

He's not looking like a high end #1 centre, at least not in production.

But let's be honest, he's still pretty damn good.

correct, but if he does that while being good defensively and while being a leader, that can be a #1 center

Also # of points in a season where they are expected to finish 25th is a bit of a moot point, question is can he grow that number over the next few years ? Slaf development / evolution should help him do that !

agreed. I expected them to finish 22nd +/-. still half a season to go.
but it would be fun to see improvement in their play as a team. because lets be honest here, without the 3 goalies.... that would be a lot uglier. Allen saved their ass in October and Monty did the same in November and December.

to answer your question, time for patience is over, because we have not seen improvements after almost 2 years. but that's just me.
things would be different if we were at domino #2 or #3. but we are still at domino #1.

They are 4 points ahead of last year with a marginaly better point %

2 spots ahead in the standings.

Boy is the bar ever low for this team

While I don't think Suzuki will be a PPG+ type of player, but when the opposition only has to focus on one line, kinda (frank)s up your ability open up your game more.

I think Suzuki has more in the tank, was hoping the emergence of Dach this season would let us see more of it.

Did you expect them to win the cup this year?

They are slowly improving, will get another good pick and keep building.

I feel like we are exactly on track with the plan.
