It's important not to overreact here. To me, the only one who looks bad here is Gauthier. Who is he to tell an NHL team he doesn't want to play for them? It's an honor to be drafted to play in the NHL by a team. There is absolutely no reason for the Flyers to be embarrassed here.

I didn't say he transformed into one of the best in the league, but he is having a career year. Not just points, but minutes and usage.

Right now, they only have 1 legit top 6 center. The cupboard is absolutely bare. I'm okay with them sliding down the standings, but the center position is a huge hole right now.

How does Cutter look bad? He could have easily stayed in college for 4 years then walked. He had the courtesy to tell them his intentions. Yeah looks real bad.

Gauthier would not even tell them why and would not talk to them. He didn't even give the Flyers a chance to understand his side of the story and be able to respond. It looks bad for Gauthier alone. Briere and Jones even went to Sweden to talk with Gauthier and he refused to even take a phone call. Come on man, you can't blame this on the Flyers.

That would be extremely short sighted with the typical shelf life of hockey coaches. Kid got bad advice whoever he got it from.

This kid is behaving like someone who is feeling disrespected by the franchise, so it’s either:
1. He hates Torts.
2. The organization failed to contact him after regime change
3. promised him something and didn’t follow though

4. He thinks he was disrespected when the Flyers picked Michkov as he sees himself as a 1C and that affects his future earnings.

Once again, you put a stinky turd in his skate after he was drafted.

I really just don't see a big deal with this. Personally I would be honored by anyone who drafts me, except the Rangers, Pittsburgh, Toronto, Columbus, Arizona and Chicago, but besides them I would be thrilled.

Danny handled it if it was true and that's better than a GM who doesn't handle it until they are forced in a corner, right?

I agree. Doesn’t show a lot of class imo. I do think they threw him under the bus a bit airing all the details but f him. He’s not mcdavid or bedard where he’s such an elite talent that he might think he can make demands like this. (Although I don’t think any player should make demands like this).
