need to sign erci staal for the stretch run to solidify the center spot....

depending on the cost can see them looking into Adam Henrique. Can play anywhere in the lineup.

NAK has 11 points in 26 games and is +9. Makes $1.225m.

Deslauriers has 3 points in 38 games and is -7. Makes $1.75m.

Hathaway has 5 points in 39 games and is -9. Makes $2.375m.

Cates has 4 points in 21 games and is -3. Makes $2.625m.

The Flyers get less bang for their buck on the 4th line than most any team in the league.

Who is wasting their time thinking about Nicolas Aube-Kubel? I forgot he existed.

nak rules. it is mind boggling the avs and leafs let him go for nothing. Even more mind boggling the caps waived him this year. Every GM was asleep at the wheel not putting a claim in for such a contributing player.

can you provide a ghost summary as well?

How great can the guy be? He nearly destroyed the Stanley Cup.

While this is all true, NAK DID dent the Stanley Cup. None of the 3 you mentioned have done such a heinous crime.

Let go Flyers, stomp on the Pens neck tonight. Remain unbeaten against them for this season. Not really worried about their top 5, that team is done. IMO, I don’t think they are coming off the mat to make the playoffs. They’ll win some in spurts, but that’s it.

When Cates comes back, I would revisit the line where Frost centers Cates and Tippett.

They seemed to click pretty well when they were together in the past.

That’s cliff’s favorite sample size lol somehow it meets the criteria for being enough for arguments sake. But the forwards have Been real bad, I’d try it too.

I'm embarrassed for you and your need for juvenile name calling. Enough for arguments sake? The criteria it meets for me is that they have had some effectiveness in the past as the line so it is worth a shot. Maybe they can form an effective line and take some of the pressure off of the top line. Since you seem to agree it's worth a try, why the nonsense?

Can you quit being personally offended when someone simply contrasts a cheap and effective 4th liner on a division rival with the overpaid dross the Flyers have used on their 4th line this season?

Are the Flyers ready to actually bench Nic Deslauriers? They seem to care more about hurting the feelings of overpaid veterans than they do about icing their best possible lineup.

I think this lineup would be more likely.

It’s hilarious that you’ll claim sample size when you don’t agree with something but you’ve hung your hat on that small sample size for a couple years now

It's hilarious that you don't know the difference between using sample size to form, support or refute a definitive opinion. Versus simply making a suggestion to reform a line to try and see if they can click since they have played as a line previously and had some success.

Nylander gets 8 years at 11.5aav.

I wonder what Marner will get when they resign him?

Running back the same squad over and over and over again is certainly one way to go.

They will certainly be the epitome of a "top heavy" lineup. Marner will most likely command over 12aav.

It is not just the 4th line. More often than not they get less bang as they consistently overpay and over term their players.
