Have the Flyers had a top 4 RHD since Desjardins? I really cannot think of one. Luke Schenn does not count. š - Trox88

I can't believe that Luke Schenn is still in the league. He was a pylon when he played for the Flyers all those years ago. - Phillywhiteout
Itās an absolute shock. Good on him for not giving up I guess. By the end of his time here I swore he was cooked in a league thatās only gotten faster. |

Say it is Torts like a lot of you seem to think. Doesnāt it kind of speak volumes that a kid who hasnāt played a second in the NHL is refusing to play for a franchise based off who the coach is?
Iāll wait to see what his side of the story is but itās going to have to be something crazy for the Flyers to come off looking like the bad guy here. Yeah, theyāve sucked for a while. So did Edmonton. Did McDavid request a trade? How about Ovi with the Caps or Sid with the Pens? And this kid is nowhere on the level of those prospects. How about literally anyone that gets drafted by the Coyotes? - hereticpride
I don't mean his view point is based on where the current team is, as most high picks go to teams lower in the standings. I mean he didn't like the way the team is run, the outlook, the direction, the management, whatever...I wasn't there for the talk. But went from saying he was made to be a Flyer to I want out in a few months. Something drastic happened. Rumors the team wanted him in college and he wanted to turn pro. Who knows..something happened to dramtically change his mind on the organization. |

Wow this is really sad to think about...Flyers hate Right handed defensemen as much as 1,000 point scorers |

What's the odds of Cutter signing his ELC after THIS college year?
If he does I would have to lean that he didn't want the Flyers. - Glak18
Has his camp issued any kind of statement post-trade?
Even a generic āI look forward to meeting with Ducks managementā¦ā release? |

Flyers apparently contacted 18-20 teams... no idea how none of them leaked it. - Tomahawk
Lmmfao if you believe they contacted 19-20 teams. Thereās ZERO chance a top 5 pick, that is playing in jr tourney, etc etc is being āquietlyā shopped and NO ONE catches wind. Especially 18-20 teams.
So laughable and non logical this all is |

Chris Therien absolutely ripped Cutter a new one on their podcastā¦ouch. Briere said in the press interview that the NCAA eligibility story last offseason was a cover in service to Gauthier in case he changed his mind. Itās becoming apparent the team did everything they could to change his mind. Donāt let the door hit you where the Good Lord split you, Cutter. |

That's the thing, it was starting to get out that Gauthier did not want to play with the Flyers so the Flyers would have quickly lost leverage here. They acted at the right time after the WJCs, good for them to act. Fletcher would sent the kid a gift basket and a smile pin. - jd250
I donāt understand why theyād lose leverage. The 20 GMs they spoke to knew that they were looking to move him because he didnāt want to be here. How would everyone knowing change anything? |

Drafting players going to the NCAA is becoming riskier than Russian players now and we all know the Flyers love their college kids.

My wild guess is that the NHL will look to close the loophole that allows NCAA kids to go UFA after four years.
Now that you can get paid while in college, I suspect we will see some kids take this route. |

To be fair, the GMs may or may not know that information. Just because you think you knew doesn't necessarily mean they knew it was true. Maybe Danny went covert and left that bit out....

I hope so, I never liked the rule that a kid gets to pick his team just because he went 4 years.

I really don't think Cutter's value changed that much from the beginning of the year, even with WJC. The Flyers got a 21 year old RHD, high draft pick, with potential top pair...and got a 2nd to boot. I don't think that would be cheap any time of year. - Glak18
Well his value certainly didnāt go down. And Iām not knocking drydale but heās already on 2nd deal. 113 games and hasnāt shown top potential. Not that he canāt or wonāt be good.
Try to think this way ā¦ if heās looking to be real deal and all why would ducks move him? Do the duck seen enough ? Do they see something special in cutter?
I wonāt crucify this deal but I smell a big rat here none of this lineups at all. Way too much spin coming out. Either way Philly does not look good in this. |

āHey, our top 5 pick who hasnāt played a second of NHL hockey is already trying to call the shots before cutting us off entirely, are you interested?ā I can see why a lot of teams werenāt interested.
Kids got Lindros personality with Gagne talent. |
