I can't say I'm surprised. I posted here days ago that Gauthier didn't look like the best player at BC this year, Smith and Leonard were better, and I was not convinced he was going to be the goal scorer in the NHL as hoped. Again, I not saying he is a bad player by any means, he's still a very, very good prospect. But you have to give up something to get something.

The Flyers do fill a huge need, a true RHS potential number 1 defenseman, as elite prospects says:

Others reporting this deal was in the works for months as they’ve known he didn’t want to come here. If that’s truly the reason, then I’m glad they got rid of him. Sounds like a diva.

I wonder if the Flyers were getting any vibes about Cutter not signing here.
I watched a few of the tournament last week and Cutter definitely has a awesome shot, hard, accurate and gets it off quickly. I believe he did lead the tournament in assists. He did seem like a perimeter player in the games I watched.
I was looking forward to seeing him sign and play a few games at the end of this season to get a better read on him. Well that’s not happening now do I hope they had the right call!
