They have depth and depth has never really been a problem. They have depth at forward, defense and net. Where they don't have any depth is high end players. Drysdale obviously has raw skill and is very young but he is very raw. He is going to need some time.

I have no doubt that this coaching staff will improve him defensively. That is one thing they can do.

In the top 9, Atkinson and Laughton are anchors. They really need a Voracek/ Jagr type winger. Don't have one of those in the organization, and of course more centers.

If Atkinson is not hurt, then his play has cratered and hes just taking a spot. Laughton hasn’t been great at all this year.

Don't expect his skating to improve much. His average speed is okay but he completely lacks a speed burst.

I think Atkinson is done. Cam will be 35 in June. I like to think all small wingers can play like St. Louis at age 38 at a high level. The reality this is pretty much the expiration date Cam is at. Danny B was just hanging on in the league at age 35. Cam had a nice career, but he cannot play in the league at a high level. No need to buy him out.

Yea it's a shame, as I liked what he brought his first season here. I know they say he's healthy but who knows if there's lingering effects of his injury. Getting old stinks.

I agree with this, especially about playing the kids. I have nothing against ND if he plays occasionally but he just can't keep up. At least Cam has some skill and he should be fine with 4th line minutes.

I'm sure it did not help. At this point, he is not a top 9 winger. 11 fwds tonight, 7th most minutes even strength. At least, they kept him on the bench for OT ( also no Risto in OT) - progress.

Yes, it was great how he was calmly answering a question then all of a sudden started ripping the reporter and cursing. Then he was like "go ahead, I'm sorry" to another reporter and answered a question. Hilarious.
