Every player mentioned is on the condition that teams fall out of the playoff race. If Detroit hangs around, then Perron and Kane are staying. If Seattle wins 8 more in a row, then Eberle isn't going anywhere.
You are missing the main point...most contenders would prefer a pure rental over a guy like Buchnevich who is on the books for $5.8M next year, and then you either pay higher or lose him for nothing. So if Detroit stays in the race and Toronto loses 10 in a row, then pure rentals like Bertuzzi and Domi enter the market.
