a rep for never letting anyone get to free agency unsigned? Ok. Backes, Pietrangelo and Perron all have an argument against that. Oh wait. You're talking about that one time they traded Paul Stastny at the deadline? I guess that can be considered a reputation...
Buchnevich is a really good winger . He’s too inconsistent for a $8 million extension though .
Any winger they put with Thomas is going to do well. Neighbors should be playing with Thomas every night imo. The defense has to be rebuilt , Krug 6.5 mil Leddy 4 mil and Faulk 6.5 , going to be a hard task for Armstrong. I hope Army learned a good lesson on NMC ‘s they are a cap killer.

Curious what you think he is worth? He's a good all around winger. I'd expect he can definitely get $8m/yr. long term if he keeps up this play until UFA in 2025.
I’d rather trade any defensemen not named Parayko. Keep Buch around until at least the off season and try to work out an extension. If not then trade him. He is a very talented player and plays well all over the ice. He plays both special teams. He would be sorely missed
How many teams want Buch at $5.8M the following year, and then knowing you have to pay even more to extend him? Probably zero. This is a trade you make in the summer when you have cap flexibility, or something you do in 12 months when he's a pure rental.
If I was a contender looking to bolster my middle 6 scoring I'd be looking at pure rentals - Henrique, Eberle, Tyler Johnson, Perron, Kane, Duclair.
But I'll be keeping a close eye on Buchnevich again.
I would really like him to remain a Blue. I agree that the Blues will either trade him in the summer or likely as a rental next year for a decent haul ,hopefully. It is obvious what the Blues need to do with the team but Army has some bad contracts, so I don’t trust him.

Army traded Tarasenko, (he asked for a trade a few years before then says “they never even offered me a contract” (frank)ing baby throwing the blues and Army under the bus) Erik Johnson, O’Rielly, Barby, Mikkola, etc. so he does have a tendency to trade players coming up on free agency. It’s just if he gets the right deal done.

I agree Armstrong should have been fired when he let Pietrangelo walk without getting a single thing for him.
