Who is Feanor a fan of? I don’t need to read stories and links. I just need you to do your own thinking for a second so I can understand your logic. Cutter Gauthier will disappear in a day, week or month but the Flyers will still be here as you find another reason to complain. So once again, who are you a fan of? - roenick97

Our remaining schedule is very difficult. We need to start picking up points. Need to beat the teams below us (struggle last few seasons) and get a few loser points.
I don't think any of us thought playoffs coming into the year so this should be an exciting stretch.
It's been a long time since winning the division was the expectation for this franchise. Miss those days. |

I'm not sure why the Flyers made this an issue. Seriously, in what universe was he not going to make this team? Even with as well as they are playing now, he would still make it. For some unknown reason, the macho Flyers turned it into a Richard measuring contest, and that is all you need to know about this world class organization. This has more Jones on it than Brier. Being a knuckle dragger (that could not fight), Jones had to scrape for everything he got....I'm guessing he is jealous.
I don't think it was Jones. It is the way the 3 of them decided to run the team. People just don't show up in the starting lineup without going through the orientation of playing the way they want, within their system. This was NEVER going to work with this kid. He doesn't want to play within a system that may curtail his creativity. He thinks he's good enough to just play, no questions asked. This is not a great situation for a coach. And we all know Torts doesn't coach that way. He has his tenets that he wants followed. There are teams that do things in a less formal manner, without as much direction given to players to play a certain way. Those teams are better for guys who just want to free wheel and do what they want. To be specific, it's about forwards playing defensively. Was Cutter going to do that ? I think we have the answer.
If there are ppl on this site who think that is not a worthwhile strategy, how come puck pursuit is used by so many coaches in the league ? Carolina has been using it quite successfully the last handful of years because of Rod B. He taught that team how to forecheck and check aggressively. But it takes a lot of work, and there are some players who don't like that style. Hayes is one of them, hence he is on STL. - BluehorseShoe64
First of all, you're badly mistaken if you think the system and style of play that the Canes play under Brind'Amour and what the Flyers play under Tortorella is the same, it's not. Not even close.
As far as your main point, if I have to choose between potential elite talent like Gauthier and Tortorella? Tortorella can go and pound sand. Yes, teams absolutely place high level talent right in the lineup. I disagree with how Gauthier handled this and I don't support what he did. However the Flyers were stupid by not signing him at the end of the 23 season. Claiming it was due to potential bonus overages. Here is a thought, make some changes then. Stop playing stiffs like Deslauriers and overpaying them to do so.

All I can say is lowly Arizona was able to sign their #3 OA pick (probably a better player than CG) and we weren't.... - mr4tno
Is that a team issue or a player issue? you make it sound like its all on the team.

Depends on how long you are staying. It shpuld be far less than that. A week of stay should be doable in $3500 or so without skimping. |

Feanor tried to make the same point. You would think the Flyers have never been able sign their prospects based on this one incident and it’s never ever happened to another organization in the history of the league. |

Who are you a fan of? It’s a direct question.
- roenick97
I am a fan of the Flyers which is why I've been posting on here for over a decade. However, I'm not an angry loser who thinks Gauthier had to sign with them if he didn't want to. And I'm not alone in thinking that.

- Feanor
Gauthier had a right to speak up to change employers, and the Flyers had a right to not move him until they were satisfied with the talent they’d be getting in a deal for him. Not every story has a happy ending for all teams and all fan bases at the pro hockey level, but there should be no bitterness toward Gauthier now that this trade has taken place. He won’t be the last player to force his team’s hand, and he certainly wasn’t the first.

Some new revelations from Scott Hartnell on the Quitter Gauthier drama:
"We knew from probably last summer that he just said, 'No talks,"
"His agent, Kurt Overcharge or Overhardt or whatever his name is—he just said, 'Don't go see this guy, don't watch him play, don't reach out. He's done with you guys.'"
Apparently, Briere told Gauthier that he couldn't guarantee the player a spot on the team if he signed immediately, specifying that he would have to earn his place or get sent down to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Hartnell suggested that Gauthier took this "the wrong way" because "he's probably used to every team he's been on rolling out the red carpet for - jd250[him]."
Gauthier had a list of other teams he was interested in being traded to that he gave to Briere, "...and some of those teams on that list said, 'We'll pass,' right off the bat."
Sounds like Quitter is a real class act.
no new revelations.
hartnell is a flyers employee so....
first it was hayes had his fingerprints all over it. Then it was he didnt want to earn it.
everywhere Cutter has played he has had to earn it. Development program and BC.

This is called playing both sides, Rico. I don’t need a long winded message full of links. I just need a one sentence answer. He also stated he’s not angry loser, which is clearly not true. He’s on the side of Gauthier, not the team and nobody in the hockey world is siding with a guy who didn’t respect HIS favorite team enough to give an explanation.
So no he didn’t really say who he’s a fan of. I don’t even know why Feanor comes here outside of being an angry loser. Being a daily female dog doesn’t sound like he’s winning to me. |

Try JFK. Philly is not a good starting point in general.

Amtrak to Penn Station, LIRR to Jamaica, that train to JFK (forget name). Very comfortable.
You can get 4-5 star hotels for $200 a night. You can do very nice 3 star for much less. AirBnb should be even cheaper.
Most southern European hotels have a la carte breakfast that is very decent. Eat heartily whenever you do eat to cut down on total number of meals, and $150 a day should be very ample for food, tix and internal travel per person. Remember, you don't need to tip in Europe and there are no food taxes: the menu prices are what you pay.
$800 round trip +1600 hotel + $150 X 7 = 1050 for everything else: $3450
(ok we better stop here ).
EDIT: I meant buffet |

Underdog makes sense tonight - ClaudeFather I agree about tonight's game and they will be home dogs again on Saturday, but I'm guessing they've actually been favored only a precious few times for most of the season. |

1000-1500 out of NY in May depending what time you leave; so say 2500 for 2 peeps
no Air bnb. I like hotels and to be waited on!!! Be able to get what a need when I want it. say 1400 for hotel @200 for 7 nights.
food a drink per day, what 300? so another 2100.
Think your off base on this one. |

Don’t lie ….you stopped listening because it’s Eagles 24-7. - landros 2 Ha ha, Angelo Cataldi ruined those stations. Once he showed up it became all about the Eagles. They used to have humor and talk about all 4 teams, but he turned it into Eagles talk radio. Probably a big reason why I find glee in their failures. I mean, they play 17 games in a 365 day year. There is only so many dead horses you can pound into the ground. |

I’m 100% better than you. I don’t have to be here from 7am in the morning to 11pm at night daily. Trolling the same people. Name calling. Tell them what you’re having for dinner. Why would anyone here care? The moment you find out the smallest thing about someone personally, you note it and use it. Who does any of this if they're living a self fulfilling life? You need this site. |
