Hey everyone,
I know this doesn’t add up but I’m in the Bahamas sitting on big bags of money but I decided to slum it with you guys all day everyday and tell you about the KFC I just had.
I bet you’re all just jealous of the life I’m living. |

True dat. Toronto and Montreal are obviously notorious for the media scrutiny but I heard every market is intense. The tax rates are also not in their favor. Not sure if it was an exaggeration but someone said Toronto players have 40% taken out...??? - cdearth23
Yeah, it's pretty much the same anywhere in Canada. Intense scrutiny.
The tax is higher but not that much higher at the end of the day... a few % points:
IIRC players would only be subject to their team's rate 50% of time anyway (they pay the rate of where each game is held). |

Lineup updates for #DALvsPHI:
• Jamie Drysdale and Sean Couturier return to the lineup.
• Nick Deslauriers, Bobby Brink, and Marc Staal come out of the lineup.
Looks like 11/7 again. |

just curious, if Couturier and Drysdale don't play tonight should I assume I'll never see them on the ice again? - Dkos

I should rephrase that, not a good center. As DB stated and I of course agree with, since I have been saying this since he was drafted, in the NHL Gauthier will be a LW, and most likely a darn good one. Could he play center if needed? Sure. But his primary position in the NHL will be LW. |

Ok, this is good, Deslauriers' 3rd game on the press box in the past few weeks. Perhaps the Flyers, and more specifically, Torts, is waking up to the idea that the Flyers really don't need him in the lineup.
So is it 7/11 tonight? |

That is what I remember as well. So, even if your state has no income tax (Golden Knights), they play in the Pacific Div, and so they are constantly traveling to Canada, California, and thus paying top level taxes.
Then there are playoffs. Florida is tax free, but Tampa (2 years ago) played Toronto, Rangers and Avs (all kinda high income tax states)
Property values are significant too. Michigan has high tax rates but low property valuations. Florida has no income tax but has high property values.
I kinda doubt players take this too much into account. It might be a tie-breaker but likely, there is no tie to begin with. |

if I was a player in 2024 I am looking towards florida , TB, Dallas, Carolina, VEgas to an extent to want to play. Staying away from the demo blue run states |

Not a good center? LMAO. He seems to be a pretty good center in college and at the WJC's. Briere did not say that Gauthier will be a LW. LOL
