lol it's much more than 4-5 players but I get what you are saying. If they draft and develop well they could be good for many years but man if you look at the rosters for those hawks Cup teams very deep. Don't think they will ever get to that point again even as good as Bedard and a few other draft picks may be. Different eras.

It's pretty rare that you add a few superstar prospects and have already drafted your entire core and depth. Probably 4-5 years if they get Celebrini to start to figure out if they have the right depth and if not, how to acquire it.

Look at Edmonton without finding that right mix, McDavid has been around for 9 years now.

Either way is an option. I’m ok going for a cup run but it’s no guarantee so weighing the cost comes down to the assets if a rental or my preference for a player that extends the window & the farm isn’t bare again.

And what does God have to do with it, probably just sounded good on your part. For the record, I don’t dismiss the notion of God outright, but, our galaxy the Milky Way is 2000 light years across, there are 2 trillion galaxies in the observable universe, to think that all this way created by a supreme being for us, is somewhat disingenuous. And laughable if I’m being honest. We can’t even get to one of the nearest planets. It takes about 22 minutes for light from earth to reach Mars.
