Way to blog drunk on Canucks win NYN! 1st in the NHL has a nice ring to it.
The only thing to save us from this 10 days off is a trade or two lol.
Anyway, Canucks are seen as the top buyers. This break will get teams to evaluate if they are sellers. My guess is most are going to stand pat. |

Hopefully other GM's don't take advantage of a slumping team. |

Thanks NYN.
Great recap as always.
I missed most of the game, but caught the last of the 3rd and o/t. Great comeback.
Super happy for Boeser. What a great comeback story itself. |

I think Boeser’s gonna get in the mid 40’s for goals, he’s not done yet, like Toc said. The team still needs to go out and get a few additions if they truly want to contend. I’m sure Allvin is working on it…trade that first!! |

Pretty sweet o/t winner for Pitts last night.
Putting my home run fantasy trade for Crosby on ice for now.

There’s been discussions, Crosby and Tocchet are tight and obviously there’s the Pens management connection. |

I’d be stoked to see the Canucks go all in this year for a goat like Crosby (not so much a guentzel or a Lindholm).

The package to get Crosby would be huge. I'd rather they spend that (plus more) for someone like Eriksson Ek or Tkachuk: someone younger who can be with the team for 5 years in their prime. If they're making a homerun swing, make it a big one |

I think part of the value of getting a goat like Crosby would be the Stanley cup winning pedigree, which is something we lack on the current squad.
And is not something tkatchuk or Erickson Ek bring to the table.
Someone like Crosby would be an all in/short term play for the cup this year.
Younger players signed to more term are clearly better long term approach’s. |

So, Cole nor Bluegar count for Stanley Cup experience? |

More needed imo.
Those guys are not the leaders or drivers of the team.
Crosby >>> more experience and leadership than those guys combined.
Cmon now. |

Ya, I would rather their window be open for 5 years instead of pushing everything in for 1 year. As much cup winning pedigree Crosby has, it doesn't cover the whole team, and the playoffs boil down to luck and injuries so much. Look at Boston last year, all the cup experience, one of best regular season teams in history, and voila. |

Would it though? The package, that is. You'll have a hard time finding an example of an older guy like Crosby, who's 36 yrs old...turning 37 next August, getting traded for much. It is Crosby though. The Pens are a sinking ship, he might go to them and say I want to go to Vancouver for another shot at a Cup, please make it happen. It's a hard one to judge for me. |

A Crosby / Pettersson combo would be deadly. That would be a huge difference maker for the organization. At the end of the day it's better to get a younger guy with term but that's going to cost you more, and, the organization doesn't know what's in front of them with Pettersson and a few other UFA's, it's a pipe-dream but Crosby would be my first choice right now. At least in the short term. |

As many of you know, I am not a fan of Pouty or Hughes, but I am smart enough to know they are both pretty talented. If I am Management and have the confidence in this group, then, if a player like Crosby became available, then it is a no-brainer, you go for it.
This group, is proving that they are capable of playing in many different styles of play, have darn good goaltending, a very good mix of defensemen, a nice forward group that would become an excellent forward group, with the addition of Crosby.
It would give this group 2 shots at going for the cup.
BTW, I am not a fan of Crosby either, but the kid is still an excellent hockey player, and yes, the cost would be high, but chances for Stanley cups are rare, Presidents cups aren't.
Go for it Allvin |

The cost to acquire Brady Tkachuk would fully deplete what you've built in your prospect system and future first round picks, it'd be awesome, no doubt, and they'd have a big tough scoring winger for Pettersson he so desperately needs. I just don't think a guy like that is available. |

Dare I say that Crosby would be the ingredient to get them past EDM or VGK but this group is building something pretty special with what we have. Selling the farm for Crosby at this point doesn't seem to be JR's and Allvins MO. Don't think the Crosby pipe-dream is realistic lol and the Pens are batting for a WC spot. |

Any idea when this years picnic is? I would like to sit down with Booner and Nightie and hear their thoughts on what Petey's new contract will look like.
Caught the highlights of the game on your nine min. clip posted on the blog, thanks.
