Retention rules. Not cap related. We’re trying to figure out if they can do it now or wait a week. Which isn’t the end of the world if they have too tbh - Slimtj100
I think Montreal could have done better on Monahan if they had waited a bit longer, a very late first round pick was always gonna be there for them on deadline day I think
but they probably didn't want to risk him getting hurt

As a Yankee fan, I doubt that. that starting rotation stinks. (Cole elite.) |

A a Yankee fan, I agree with you. Starting pitching is terrible. Shedding the dead-weight of Giancarlo Stanton is needed, as well. He's beyond terrible. |

You wanna talk bad trades. Everybody involved for the Brewers with that trade should be fired. |

Alot.
He shouldn’t have let him walk in the first place. Gets harder and harder to defend Drury, I’ve done my best lol but I’m on the Drury hate line, at least the back of it |

It's been a tough balance the past few offseasons with also wanting to give Kakko and Laf playing time and opportunities to move up to the top 6. We've seen how difficult that is for them to take and grab, but at least what we've done is balance the need to give them the opportunity to justify their high pick pedigree/potential. Plus I believe there were contract concerns where we just couldn't fit him the offseason after. Unless we hadn't signed Trocheck I suppose, but I think Drury did the best he could. |

I can't say I'm an avid basketball fan, but I consistently listen to sports radio.. When did it become common place in the NBA to trade multiple 1st rd picks for other players?
Often when I hear a proposed trade, it involves 2-5 1st rd picks + pick swaps.
It seems like a broken system, but NBA free agency sees stars move all the time, so they're doing something right.
I would love to see the NHL develop their own version of Bird rights. |

The problem started with Goodrow. It just did. Since he signed him, the RW has been a revolving door of players. You need 3 scoring lines in the NHL. And you're 4th line kinda has to be a 3rd line. |
