Obviously depends on the rerun. But I think dealing Kakko will be one of those trades we look back on at the end of his career and say man, what a mistake we made. |

Maybe theyre are floating the rumor out there to keep the fire in his eyes. I think he has right up until the TDL to either force them to trade him or prove to them to keep him.
My opinion is his speed/skating will hold him back from being all star level, he’ll always be a good/decent player. Everything looks so difficult for him to do, nothing comes natural or fluid. I think it all stems from his skating
We all know I’d trade him, and who for lol |

No way.
Kaliyev. That’s the guy. He’s already scored at the NHL level. He’s fallen out of favor with their coach.
I was also thinking maybe Nashville, and Cody Glass as an alternative. Pretty much same salary, he’s 2.5, but a natural center. Any of these centers from Nashville really, take your pick- Novak, Glass, Sissons, hell even ROR. |

What has Cody Glass shown you so far that you would deal Kakko for him? If you say Kakko has been underwhelming, what does that make Glass? |

I think it has to be underwhelming for underwhelming tho, doesn’t it?

Yea but Jan one time I had chicken parm and it wasn’t as good as I expected and another time I ate what I thought was chocolate ice cream and it ended up being poop. Both disappointing experiences |

TJ - did I call you out? Did I say you were an idiot? No, all I did was disagree with your view. You are entitled to yours, I just don’t feel the same way about Glass as disappointing as Kakko might be. That’s all. Didn’t demean you for your opinion. I think they are floating the idea out there but don’t think he gets dealt until they get multiple assets as part of a package deal |

Sorry didn’t mean to come across that way
I think we’d be underwhelmed by the return is the thing tho. It’s going to be a guy like Glass for example. I think 6’3 - 24,yr old center should be somewhat of a priority for the org. Plus Kakkos value can’t be very high. Rangers are in a tough spot that’s for sure having a raise looming
What do you think of Kaliyev? If we goRW for RW |

Trading Kakko is a mistake and it’s a desperate attempt by Drury to save his job. That’s my stance on the matter. Now if he IS going to be traded, let’s discuss for who. |
|
|
|
Kakko, a 2nd overall pick, is scoring at 0.39 ppg, Glass, a 6th overall pick, is scoring at 0.40 ppg, not sure how Glass can be considered a bigger disappointment than Kakko. |

I guarantee that YOU will not like the trade because you never do lol
I think we can all agree that a rental is no good. Has to be someone with RFA status still at least. I picked Glass because of similar career trajectory, and he’s a center. Neither one of them have been particularly good, but I think that is what we’re looking at.
If we’re looking to “make out” on a trade tho, I highly doubt that happens. He’s got a month to determine his Ranger career. He could go off and it won’t even be a question anymore that he should stay a Ranger

I agree with you. I’d be ok if it was Glass. At least Id know I have a young 3C Peca could mold and coach and we can still make a trade for Tarasenko (which I think is like 75% likely) |

One decent year, 35 points, beyond that, very little. This season, struggling even more and hasn’t always been in the lineup consistently. I personally think Kakko has more upside, but a deal like this could be possible, though I would want more back in return. |

If we are supposed to be loading up because this is our run, why would we want to swap problems with somebody?
I'm firmly in the don't trade camp. But, if they do trade him, it has to be with someone like Jones or Berard or Sykora along with a couple picks, probably including out 1st for an established player that truly improves our line up.
Otherwise, let the soon to be 23 year old figure it out. |

Exactly. We know more or less what we have in Kakko, why take a chance on trying out a player who isn't an upgrade in a lateral trade. |
