Why does Lindgren get a pass but Miller doesnt? - aecliptic
Lindgren is literally Dan Girardi. We see what this team is like without Lindgren in the lineup. It’s just not the same. The guy is a warrior and as long as the price isn’t too high he isn’t going anywhere.
I really don’t believe the Rangers defense is the issue. I think that Miller has some mental lapses and makes some big mistakes but the guy has a tremendous amount of upside. He’s still so young and honestly he’s still learning how to defend. I’m on the side that the grass isn’t always greener in the other side. If you just look at the playoffs they honestly all have played pretty solid. I don’t have an issue with any of them.
We have big holes to fill and I’m not going to try to play Russian roulette with trades even though we joke around. I’m not in the belief that they should subtract from what they currently have. They need to use the prospects and picks at their disposal to use for trades.
It’s just mind boggling to me how Mika has been getting such a pass on here. He’s a major problem right now. Him and Shesty need to figure it out. If he’s not putting pucks in the back of the net and driving offense then we have no shot of winning anything. And for Shesty, he doesn’t have to be lights out every night like Hank had to be but he can’t be the reason we lose games.
Kreids is fantastic at tipping pucks in but it’s clear as day teams are starting to defend that. Would even like to see Kreider be more of a difference maker on most nights. This team goes as they go. We can nitpick Kakko not living up to expectations all we want but he’s not the reason we have been playing mediocre hockey and I definitely wouldn’t trade him unless we are using him in a package for something bigger. We have to see it out with him.
Every player has a role to play and some players are way behind where we are accustomed to seeing them the last 3 years and some are playing better than expected. This team needs to play better structurally and defend much better as a “Team”.
This team has a major challenge tomorrow after a long break. No excuses so we shall see what team shows up. The Jeckyl and Hyde play needs to stop now.

I think Dan Girardi contributed more offensively than Lindgren, I always thought Girardi was a little underrated offensively
he had 3 game winning goals in 2012 playoffs
Lindgren is very limited, but both definitely warriors |

Ugh. I wonder if the focus at the deadline is to not over spend on any one player. Johnson has not been good though, granted it is Chicago. I would like for them to get Blackwell along with Johnson.
They really should find a 3rd team to retain on Johnson. Even at 50% of his cap, its still too much for us to fill all the gaps we have. |

Great read, agree completely.
We need prospects that play the game Lindgren style, not the prettiest but the most grit.

No disagreement. I think I have been calling out Mika, and Kreider as well, but please let me know if not evident in the blogs, as you are spot on there.
New York needs to add multiple pieces. Not sure one specific piece is the answer but bolstering the lineup and making it harder to face is the likely way to go, barring some major deal that is not apparent. |

I dont understand what you are saying here, you know we have big holes in the lineup but you dont want to trade just for anyone but yet you want them to trade away picks and prospects to fill all the holes??
So you want them to just trade away for rentals or not? |

Given their needs, unlike they try and go for a superstar, they can be filled smartly. Pieces are out there. Giving up a 1 for Lindholm or Monahan was not part of their trade strategy |

Pretty much everyone has called out Mika by now. It’s clear he needs a better RW, like he always has had when he was REALLY good. It’s a point that falls on blind eyes.
Whether Buch, Vatrano, Tarasenko…he’s always produced like an all star. This year he hasn’t because his RWs suck. Where I have a problem with him is his PP shot has just been off all season
