if we acquire Lindholm, he's going to be 3rd line center in a conference with nowhere near the type of centers in it that he usually faces every night as a #1 center in the Western Conference - jimbro83
lindholm could also play RW and get a cheaper center
But my plan of choice if I’m Drury would be Tarasenko and a lesser named 3C. That does the least damage to the future assets while fixing most of the issues up front and would probably allow to tinker the defense too
In general, It’s hard not to envision one of these rentals added, seems like a forgone conclusion

I have a hard time believing that the Rangers dont go after Tarasenko. They might resign him this time since they have the capability to do so now. Also gives them more time to not rush Perreault.

in my mind the only untouchables are Cuylle, Othmann and Perreault
I think any of the other prospects and draft picks are up for grabs
Lindholm wouldn't have to play 21 minutes a game anymore, and neither would Trocheck. Even though this team hardly plays PP2, having Lindholm makes its far more capable since he's one of the best in the league at faceoffs. - aecliptic
He's 2nd for forward among the flames started in the defensive zone. He's 2nd for forwards for shifts started in the offensive zone.
They aren't setting him up to fail. He just hasn't been good.
He would also lighten he load on Mika and Trocheck. - aecliptic
if the Flames were playing Johnny Brodzinski in the role they have played Elias Lindholm this season, with the same icetime, Im going to say that Brordzinki's advanced stats would be pretty terrible
Im not married to the idea of getting Lindholm, I'm just making a case why his overall play this year for Calgary doesn't concern me - jimbro83
I don’t think they get him. I agree with you and Aec tho that he’d be a much better player here. If they could re sign him then it’s more worth it. I just don’t love the idea and haven’t for awhile
Kakko, a 2nd overall pick, is scoring at 0.39 ppg, Glass, a 6th overall pick, is scoring at 0.40 ppg, not sure how Glass can be considered a bigger disappointment than Kakko. - Reubenkincade
