i was at the isles game last night too - got to see tampa in person back to back nights. they stink - NYRangers1124
No Sergachev. Johansson in net. They had no legs on back to back right after the break. Islanders offense is much better under Roy |

How is it that seemingly every season we don’t play the isles until the last few months of the season |

I feel like every year, Im always at a Rangers v Penguins game in April. This year its not as bad with the Penguins, but last year in March we played the Pens 3 out of 4 games in a week. 2022, played the Pens 3 times in 2 weeks. |

I think last year was the opposite, we played our last game of the season against them in December or January. So we'll have gone a full calendar year between games with this year them all being late in the season |

That’s right. It just seems like a really dumb way to schedule |

How about having nearly 10 days off in November, but having like 7 weekends with 3 games in 4 days from the start of Dec to the end of Jan. |

That was dumb. Yet somehow we played much better back then despite it... At least the schedule gets much more even down the stretch for us, with a lot less travel and b2b games. Lots of games against the East. Not overly hard, but not many "easy" games either |

The winning record was just not sustainable in Dec and Jan because of that ridiculous schedule with the injuries we had and half an AHL squad. |

I feel like it gets worse every year. Not to mention because of whatever stupid contractual agreement the Rangers have with NYC that they can only play home games at MSG and nowhere else, the Isles have to lose a Rangers game at UBS because they're the "home" team at MetLife. So there are zero Islander/Ranger games at UBS this year. |

UBS is a trash arena anyway, better off not having to play there |

I think the craziest stat is that the Rangers and Islanders didn't play a game against one another in the calendar year of 2023 |

I have yet to go there either, but everyone I know thinks the place is fabulous, other than the parking and traffic nightmare

It’s not the first year the schedule has fallen this way, but whose bright idea has it been to schedule NYR/NYI on St. Patrick’s day.
The crowds during those games are a poopshow enough on their own. But yes let’s schedule the game for a day we know 80% in attendance is sloshed and crowd fights are almost guaranteed. |

Oh man!!
That's gonna be a hell of a day.
The band is playing an afternoon gig for St. Patty's, but 3 of us play hockey at noon. So, it will be set up at 10am, the bar's breakfast special at 11 (steak & eggs and a Caesar), off to skate and then back to play music all afternoon!!! |
