No I can't! TK is noticeable every single game he plays. That is just one example. There are dozens of players that I can say this about. - jd250
Every single GAME is far different than every single SHIFT.
I'll bet dollars to donuts you didn't recognize TK for a shift or two last night. |

I agree with you 100%. Heck I'll see your 8 mil and raise you I don't even want to see 8 years. |

You just gave me a serious yearning for their curly fries, and I can’t have em. I’m off potatoes right now. Thanks for that. |

The way salaries are trending, you’d have to think he’s not gonna get less than 8, right? |

A significant nuance isn't it? Every player, no matter how good has a bad game, bad periods and bad shifts. The entire standard of "noticing" a player, is really a silly standard. A player being noticed depends on a lot of factors, including one's ability to watch and discern what is going on a game. That particular poster routinely claims to not notice players he doesn't like. Claiming that as evidence that the player didn't play well. When confronted with the facts that show that he is wrong. He falls back on the player was invisible or not noticed. As if that is a legitimate standard for judging a player. |

Konecny has every right to ask for 8 or more. I just don’t feel it's in the best interest of the Flyers to do so. |

To say you need to notice a player every shift feels to me like he's really trying his hardest to not like that player.
As much I as like Coots and TK I couldn't tell you what I saw each and every second they were on the ice. Heck in the Boston game I didn't know what Pasta did every shift. |

It's not an easy situation. I never honestly felt like the Flyers would truly move him. Certainly not at this trade deadline. |

By the 25-26 season, it is expected the cap will be around 92 million. Salaries are going to be adjusted. Hypothetically, I could see TK getting close to 9 million/yr with the expected salary cap increases. The Flyers next summer will gain significant cap relief with Petersen and Atkinson coming off the books (also Hathaway). Briere needs to take advantage of this current center market and move Laughton. Will they extend both Frost and York next summer? Interesting times ahead.

Also I will not be doing that either

Flyers don't have much depth at center and, while I don't love his game (or cellys) I still think you try to sign Frost and hope he continues to progress.
however I'd be all for a hockey trade for another center that might fit the game plan/style of play better. or as a piece toward a 1D.
I think they have to sign York and I'd imagine they want to. He just turned 23 and he just seems so composed back there. I forget he's not a vet sometimes. still has things to work on but it's easy to forget how young he is when he plays such a mature game.
I'll be disappointed if they don't trade Laughton. The whole "don't fall in love" I really feel is about Laughton. Who else could you imagine the franchise "being friends with", as Torts put it, after their tenure?
and before you say it hello it's me .... no I don't think a 2 year deal for a 25 year old former first round pick at $1.9m (RP) is "falling in love". Holding onto Laughton and (god forbid) giving him another deal - that is falling in love. |

Hathaway signed a 2 yr contract last summer. Pretty sure Hathaway, Atkinson, and Petersen come off the books next summer. In my previous post, I forgot Cates will be in the same boat as York and Frost next summer. Also, Foerster's ELC is up next summer.
I do expect some type of hockey trade to happen over the next 2 yrs to add depth at center. |

Torts talked about Drysdale at length in the pre-game yesterday. He said Drysdale has missed a lot of time due to injuries, thus he has a lot of learn about how to play defense and how the Flyers play defensive zone coverage, going from man-to-man coverage in Anaheim to zone coverage with the Flyers. I suspect that Drysdale will not be that noticeable offensively for a while as he is learning the coverages and working with Shaw on improving his defensive skills. - jd250
I'm okay with that. With Drysdale and his skills I am comfortable playing the long game with him.
I have faith in shaw and Torts. They turned RR into a decent defender now.
For all I dislike about Torts I have to admit that he is instilling a very solid skill set of hpw to play defense with this group.
Drysdale may have an even higher ceiling with Shaw and Torts developing him |
|
|
|
Well…for some clubs I’m sure their first rounders have an easier time turning into bottom 6 contributors if they don’t hit their ceiling (like Laughton)….unfortunately for the Flyers, they have had a bunch over the last decade that didn’t even pan out at all.

We get it...we are all asinine and unintelligent! The reality is that you are completely misguided in thinking that the players stopped playing last night to conserve energy for the remainder of the season. That simply isn't the case. Hockey players don't think like that in a game. Another example of you never playing the game. Oh, and the concept didn't go over my head. It went under my feet!! - Phillywhiteout

Maybe he was meaning Hart and his removal from the team.
