Could’ve turned into a debacle Bill? Certainly some good saves but it seemed like the flyers had it under control mostly. Sure they could’ve been better but ersson wasn’t standing on his head. Jets were a desperate bunch |

It needs to be changed to the Rick Tocchet hat trick. He had 18. Howe only had 2 in his career. - Minnyhock
My favorite player on the Flyers during his heyday!
Guy could score, AND beat your brains in! Now THAT’S old time hockey, the way it was meant to be!! |

Funniest fight I have seen was Hartnell and Phenuef after Harts scored. What’s that called? |

If he had an assist in the game, it would be the Geordie Howe hat trick. I don’t believe they have a special name for scoring a goal and immediately fighting someone after. |

Great first period. Not so good the rest of the way. Ersson is back to making big momentum saves. Flyers were not getting that level of goaltending during the losing streak. Hope they find a way to spot start Peterson. Ersson is the verge of playing too much in my opinion.
Nice win against a good team.

That is the fear but they also cannot play Ersson every game.

Man. If they keep winning, it’ll really screw up the rebuild. They need to trade Ersson and tk to get us back on track. |

I’d have to look at the schedule but you’d need to pick a real bottom feeder team to have a hop in hell. Maybe being the guy in lhv will allow sandy to find his game. |

Well, then how about we remove our best scorer?
Hear me out. This isn’t too serious. Just spitballin’
So rumors are out there that Zegras is available. Now, he’s having a tough season with injuries and everything. Hasn’t been right this year. But we’ve seen his potential.
What about, and I know this sounds crazy, Konecny
Look, TK is the better player here *at this moment*. More reliable. He’s also prolly gonna get 8-9 per year if he shows he’s a 30 goal scorer, and he totally should be. He gets paid soon. Zegras has 2 more seasons at 5.75.
We gotta cut payroll to get more talent. Plus, I bet we can snag a nice pick in the process. To top it off, he’s a center and 4 years younger.
The Ducks? They get a high powered wing to go along with all those centers they have. TK is still 26, and with their scoring potential in Gauthier, MacTavish, Carlsson, and Terry, they could turn around fast by adding him.
Maybe it’s a good building move? Do we wanna handcuff ourselves with another big contract on a guy who will be at the backside of his career by the time we’re ready to compete on TK?
Zegras and Boston’s 2nd for TK and a 5th. |

Maybe the change of scenery would do Zegras some good. He’s best friends with Drysdale and York. He’s also an east coast kid. New York, I believe.
God knows we need a center. We’ve got potential at wing. |

Don’t get me wrong. I like TK, and the way the cards sit, we pay him.
It’s just something to chew on |

Why in the world would Anaheim make that deal? Think about why the Flyers would be making that deal? Isn't Anaheim in the same position as the Flyers are?

There are only a handful of games left to play against teams under 500.
2 of them come in the back end of a back to back. So in total I think Peterson will get at least 4 games and at the most 7 if you want to play it safe.

train keeps rolling...continue to win until the deadline.
Wonder who the coach/GM has in mind to acquire. |

He actually had many more than that (gloves dropped, etc) but only two two that were ruled as fighting majors. That's per Mark. |

Well, like I said, don’t take it too seriously.
But why?
Well,
1) they need a scoring winger
2) they have a lot of centers
3) they can afford TK after a new salary just fine
4) Zegras is unhappy and underperforming this year. Plus injured.
5) a lot of pieces are already in place so their addition of TK helps more than their loss of Zegras. It would help the other guys they already have under contract.
6) because. |

Interesting but I don’t think zegras fits our timeline for rebuild. He’d also be at odds with torts I think.

Waning seconds of the first period, Ersson had to make a 10-bell save on Morrissey. If that goes in, the door is open entering the second period.
Over the course of the second and third periods, the Jets out-shot the Flyers, 25-8, and out-chanced Philly by a whopping 28-8 margin. Gave up 16 high-danger chances for the game.
So, no, it wasn't mostly under control. They had a big lead but the Jets really took it the Flyers and it could easily have turned out badly if Ersson hadn't kept the shutout going until fairly late in the third period. |
