You are right. We should be cheering for another team and hoping for the Canucks to tank so they pick higher in the 3rd round.. then you guys can say I told you so.

I suggested you thought this team were pretenders. You said you prefer the term "paper tiger".
How's that out of context? - boonerbuck
Here are the exact quotes:
He's been waiting all season to play the "imposters" card. Cut him some slack. That kind of patience deserves a pat on the back.
- boonerbuck
I would never say imposters. I like the term "paper tigers".
- bloatedmosquito
Do I really need to put a winky-face emoji on that for you? Who uses the term paper tiger in quotations? It was a joke.
Holy sh it, you are as smart as the possum you trap. |

Tampa, the Cup winners, didn't have to play in the qualifying round so they only played four rounds of playoff hockey. - Pacificgem
Fack...my bad lol
But still a potential cup champ from that year from the play-in round would have technically had 5 rounds. |

It was dumb, in that he cross-checked him in the face, why didn't he drop his gloves and punch Greig? I know why, because Rielly's a wussy, that's why. - Pacificgem
Honestly dude as someone who played the game at a high level if anyone in here should understand it should be you. It's a total disrespect to the game from top to bottom what that Sens player did and got exactly what he deserved actually it probably should have been worse after the crosscheck with another sound throttling. You need to be better man wise the fack up there is a code in Hockey and needs to be respected. |

There is that aspect yes. But, if you are gonna act like a clown out there and disrespect the game the way that Sens player did, you get what you get lol |

Chill out. People can cry all they want about losing one regulation game in 14 or 15... just be prepared to to get laughed at.

Wouldn't the code dictate that he drops the gloves and challenge him rather than a blindsided crosscheck to the head? Now if he did something violent to a team mate that really crossed the line, then not many would cry about retribution but it was a slap shot into an empty net and the response was cowardly. I don't know what code you are talking about.... the NHL code was crossed with that chickenpoop attack. Its a fkn empty net goal ffs.

Sorry man, I agree with Lefty. Drop the gloves and go. Probably not a suspension and it doesn't hurt your team. Cross check to the face, very likely a suspension and hurts the team. You don't have to play at a high level to understand smart Hockey. But you're a Dman so it might take a bit longer for the logic to sink in. |

I find it very disrespectful for a team and its fans to come into your barn and act as if they own it. Leafs and their fans are notorious for that. I am surprised more players and teams haven't done it to be truthful. Also there is no good excuse for hitting a player in the head with your stick on purpose. Can't agree on this one LH. |

Leafs are a bubble team this season and a suspension to one of their best for a few games could put them on the outside. I hope it does... but he'll probably get a fine and a apology for the meaningless penalty at the end of the game.

I'm ok with beating the Leaf's fans with sticks and such.
