The fellas at NHL Network on Sirius/XM think that Walker is going nowhere cause he would only get s 3rd round pick in return. They don't think they will do much trading with the new turn of events of the season (looking like they may make the dance). They also said that Torts is a shoe in to be at least in the top 3 nominees for the Jack Adams! Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Then IMO you get a third round pick for him.

As for Torts, if they make the playoffs he is a shoe in as a finalist for Jack Adams.

Why would you take a 3rd round pick? Very few of them actually make it to the NHL. That's basically like giving him away and he has been perhaps their most steady defender this season. I have to disagree here. I mean, what kind of message would that send to the team?

Reminder: Torts in NY didn't think Mats Zuccarello could be an NHL regular and, in Columbus, that William Karlsson was a 4th liner. He gets things wrong sometimes, too. If Briere and Brent Flahr hadn't been believers in patience with Frost, Tortorella would have pulled the plug.

That’s the breaks in pro sports, no? Sometimes you lose the player. There could be an argument made that if you do nothing the player could forever wallow in mediocrity. IMO the flyers thoughts on Frost were “sh!t or get off the pot” - we either get him going now or we move on. We can argue right or wrong all day. We just see it different. The evidence that if you just leave him alone eventually he will figure it out is just not there.

I look at it this way.

You have three choices.
1.Lose him in FA for nothing
2. Resign him.
3. Get an asset for him.

IMO, since I don't want them to resign him for what he is probably going to command, I would rather they get a pick.

I understand your optics POV. And its a good point.

Aside from that, its moot anyway because I think if they get a third they would also be getting a prospect. I don't think the TEAM would trade him for just a third.

I’m REALLY torn here….i see both sides. I’m team “rebuild” so I do want assets. But a third is bullpoop.

I will strongly state I think in the next 5 years these players going to the playoffs this year does more to develop the Flyers than that 3rd round pick.

But, again, I see the need to get an asset

I blame Torts for “devaluing” him 😂

He has played 23 games this season lol

or he wasnt good to begin with and Fletch never should have traded 3 picks for him

I think they would probably get more than just a third wound pick too. With Risto out he probably isn't getting moved, but I also get a point about not letting him walk for nothing. If he signs a new deal with the Flyers I would hope that it's for no more than 2 years, but he might not want that.

Agreed! I think some unexpected playoff hockey would be invaluable to some of these young guys just to get a feel for playoff hockey cause it's so much different than the regular season.

Honestly, Sanheim would have been my choice for the other “A” ahead of Konency. I find it troublesome to give TK a letter because it probably means they’ll re-sign him.

I haven't watched Toronto much this year, but after watching them for 10 minutes I can confidently say, they Suck with a capital 'S'! They're soft, completely soft. And what's worse for them is they don't have any money to get players that are actually hard to play against. If it were not Toronto, I might even feel bad for Leafs fans.

Watching the Toronto feed. This is gonna fuel some fire. They believe disappoint Rick Tocchett may win the Jack Adams but if the Flyers make the playoffs, Torts could win it.

yeah i am 50/50 on resigning TK...won't be upset either way. i wonder if the letter is a way of buttering him up to stay rather than an indication that they already made a decision

I’ve said this before, if the Flyers trade TK I’m not sure if I would ever have been more upset by a trade except for Rod Brindamore.

I know it’s not apples to apples but that one didn’t exactly kill it for the Flyers

But i still would understand ☹️

Speaking of sucking....your analysis on everything. The fact you think even an opinion can be valid because you took a whole 10 minutes to watch a team. I have to assume you are trolling trying to say the dumbest things you can think of for attention...

gotta love when Cates just strolls in and strips Tavares of the puck in his own zone.
