That's incorrect bub. The Leafs by point percentage were 11th in the league coming into the game. That is by definition an above average team. They're a good team bub. - MJL
Is 12th average? |

We've seen in numerous games recently such as in games against Colorado, TB, Boston and tonight against Toronto, what elite talent can do for a team. The Flyers are a team that plays a structured team game, plays hard, blocks shots and defends well. They have some good forwards in Tippett, Farabee, Couturier and one really good but not elite forward in Konecny. Now add some elite players to that team. A couple of defenseman and a few forwards and what do you have? How do they get that? That's why it imperative that the Flyers continue to rebuild. Don't get into contracts they shouldn't get into. Don't try to just be a good team. Reach higher and try to build a top team. |

Good point! I thought Ersson could have been better on some of those longer range shots. I love Hathaway's game. I just wish he could score more than he does. There is no need for ND at this point, so bring up someone from the Phantoms. The Devils lost in regulation tonight, so if the Flyers can take the two points Saturday they are gonna put the Devs in a precarious situation. |

They need to plan to be a true contender by the time MM gets here. |

Says every single team in the NHL.
True finisher like someone with a shoot first mentality and good shot or someone that scores 40 goals every year?
How many stud defensemen are there in the NHL right now? Not use to be, but currently.

Anybody just wish Deslauriers would get rocked into next week? - Pelle31Forever
I only want ND playing if there's an injury or against a team with a similar player. Reeves didn't play so no need for ND tonight. That said, hockey is so fast so when York got hit and went down, I had no problem with ND jumping in there. It's a reflex action...you go after the guy who hurt your teammate. When someone gets hurt, I assume it's common to think it's a cheap shot as I did until I saw the replay. I don't want ND or anyone else on the Flyers to get rocked for standing up for a teammate (regardless of their lack of skill)

I know, tank and get a couple of high end draft picks. That's why they get the big bucks. You can see why the Laffs suck in the playoffs though. No depth at all and they are soft. If not for Matthews the Flyers walk away with a victory easily. It does concern me though that the Flyers keep getting burned by all these teams with high level talent. I thought Drysdale was very good tonight although he missed the net too much. DB has to finagle some things going forward cause the Metro division is not going to be very deep in the coming years. |

If York is now out, I still believe Briere sticks to the plan and moves Walker. Market demand seems to be very good for Laughton. I have a feeling Briere will target a young player coming back for Laughton as opposed to a high draft pick. |

Lose the face off in Ot and that’s game. The flyers never touched the puck. Not sure why Coots wasn’t out there. |

I really like what I've seen from Hathaway as well, and yes, no need for ND although I'm not a ND hater. I want guys like Hathaway and Seeler who can provide toughness and mix it up when necessary, but won't hurt the team when on the ice. ND especially should not be playing when we are going 11/7. That's my main issue with Torts. I just don't get it and afraid it will come back to bite us if we make the playoffs.

Did Couturier's leg stiffen up from that slash in the 3rd period or was he benched in the 3rd? |
