$50 worth of edibles is a night, or a bottle of moderately good bourbon.

I prefer Spoon or Can to Tool.

Yeah. Implement are good, too. Not to mention Device, Utensil, Apparatus, Gadget, and Appliance. They rock.

That 1972 Montreal show where Device opened for Gadget was groundbreaking.

Joe is actually surprisingly well-read and thoughtful. A lot of the pushback on him is from his days where he was sucked into tinfoil hat conspiracies, his continued friendship with Alex Jones, "masculine" interests (bow hunting, MMA, etc.), and refusal to bend the knee to the latest mainstream "thing."

I listen to the JRE quite frequently and the amount of fact checking he has Jamie perform and his own self-reflection is pretty refreshing. Also, love that he has a wide swath of guests on his show: authors, journalists, athletes, comedians, public intellectuals, scientists, Navy Seals, et al.

I can understand people not jiving with his flow, but the whole "Joe is a caveman/knucklehead conspiracy theorist" narrative is so far off the mark it's laughable.

Rogan platforms some people who are problematic, in my opinion.

Yeah, yeah, everyone can skip the free speech angle, let's hear what he has to say, both sides, just curious, yada yada yada.

Dude has had Jordan Phucking Peterson on like 8 times. πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜†

Pretty sure we'll never agree on Rogan like we do on Leafs hockey.

"Problematic" is just code for "people who I don't share opinions with." And whenever someone whines about supposedly platforming "both sides" I know I've found someone who is ideologically captured. We need to constantly test our beliefs against the "other side" or we risk losing sight of the robust arguments we have against ideas we disagree with.

Having said that, I'll never understand the JBP hate.

To wit: Rogan is not the dummy people reductively take him for. He also doesn't claim to be anything more than a person who desires to have long-form discussions with interesting people.

I find it amusing that people find him to be some sort of existential threat.

Rogan simps get so triggered when he’s exposed as a conspiracy theorist fraud.

Stop giving him cover. He repeatedly calls Canada weak and pathetic, and the PM a communist etc etc. He attacks our healthcare, our education system, and his entire thing is about fearing the gov’t and normalizing the rise of fascism and MAGA. He pro β€œeveryone gets a gun.”

(frank) that guy.

End of story.

It wasn't "code" - I was clearly stating my opinion as an opinion. You defensively took it another way.

And whenever someone whines about supposedly platforming "both sides" I know I've found someone who is ideologically captured.

Disagreeing with your opinion is "whining" - got it.

We need to constantly test our beliefs against the "other side"

When the other side is parroting debunked horsepoop, no, we don't need to test their beliefs. Opinions that clash with fact have already been tested and debunked. It's kicking a dead horse and pretending it's intellectual debate.

Having said that, I'll never understand the JBP hate

I don't hate him or anyone. I disagree with the debunked horsepoop that him and some of his guests prattle on about.

I find it amusing that people find him to be some sort of existential threat.

... Hardly. I said the guy is a phucktard, not a threat to life on earth as we know it.

Anyone who dares challenge criticism of Joe is a "simp" who is "triggered."

Sounds like his criticism of Trudeau has you triggered, bro.
