Is Bratt still part of the deal or did that story not make sense? |

Saying please won’t make it happen. Devils aren’t trading Nemec. Holtz seems to have fallen out of favour with Ruff, he was playing 4th line. Mercer could be the young center Flames have been looking for, he’s playing wing on the 3rd line.
Mercer, Holtz and a 1st for an extended Hanifin and Marky. |

This actually makes sense for both squads... A win win...
Details to follow... I would think the return depends on Jersey being able to extend Hanifin.
If so the price goes considerably higher. |

Jack Hughes' penalty shot flub against the Ducks was a perfect summation of how this season has gone. The Devils were gifted one last shot to gain ground on Philly and Tampa Bay. Loser Lindy Ruff puts out Hughes for the penalty shot, despite Jesper Bratt being the statistically better option. Hughes overhandles the puck and doesn't even get a shot off.
It's time for this team to put down the pipe dreams of goalies and pending UFA additions that detract from our future. They can barely win two games in a row. Play the rest of the season out, get rid of this loser of a coach, see what's on the market in the offseason. Don't deplete draft picks and prospects for an over the hill goalie and a rental defenseman. Use the hardship that was this dreadful season as motivation to come back next year with a healthy Dougie Hamilton and some offseason retooling. Because even if we miraculously make the postseason... we will go nowhere. |

With the loss today, New Jersey is 12th in the conference. They aren't trading a boatload of picks and prospects for a UFA d-man who likely doesn't want to resign and a $6m goalie who would have to waive a NMC to go there. |

With NJ taking another duece in So Cal this afternoon this potential trade seems very unlikely. |

Touche, I digress:
You could almost do Mercer for Markstrom straight up.
If Hanifin's limiting potential destinations, bare minimum a 1st for him as a rental. Sign and trade: Holtz or Lundell, the latter seems more likely
People shouldn't forget the value of getting playoff experience for young talented teams. It was frustrating seeing Tkachuk get injured and not elevate in the playoffs, goes to FLA and was a monster. Lots of unjust criticism for many elite players out there, who haven't figured out playoff hockey yet. |

Bob stole multiple series. Easy to "elevate in the playoffs" when your goalie steals half the games. Tell me, who should I put money on to elevate in the playoffs this year? Because if playoff elevation isn't predictable, then it is a fake trait. |

Lindy Ruff is a perennial loser. The only thing this guy has ever had any success at is convincing NHL teams to hire him despite his decades long abysmal career. It’s a truly impressive talent.
They need to fire this hack immediately after the season ends, and demand a reinstatement hearing for Joel Quenneville so he can begin his tenure as coach of the New Jersey Devils. |

Mercer having a bad season but has value .
Bahl has more value ...Like to keep him . If we trade him thats the kind if player we are looking for so that makes NO sense. We traded Okhotyuk because we had Bahl .
Holtz , Miller , Prospects ( no one is lighting it up ) . and picks .
Hanifan would have to be resigned .
Either way getting a goalie is inevitable . Markstrom wants to play here and waive his no trade .
Hanifan will be a UFA after the season . |

What’s the point of trying to improve the Devils when you have a coach that pulls the goalie, and then forgets to put the extra attacker out on the ice? Season’s toast. Loser Lindy needs to go and don’t waste picks and prospects for a rental unless it’s an amazing deal |

Can’t do conditions based on signing anymore.
This has been a thing for a couple years now. |
