He's not establishing anything. That's just basic GMing. Everyone does that. He wouldn't have made those trades if they were first in the division. It's pretty easy to trade away UFAs when you're out of the playoffs.

Yeah the group looked excellent against Tampa. Will be fun to watch them moving forward. Tanev being the exception, the benefit of being rid of guys who clearly don’t think much of the team might be greater than the talent they brought to the ice.

It's fun now, but it's going to be really hard to become a competitive team unless Sharangovich actually is a number one centre who can score 30+ every year.

They're likely going to be too good to ever get a top pick and not good enough to have much playoff success unless a goalie goes on an incredible run.

Time will tell! Next season’s trade deadline might be one of the more significant in Flames history. Kuzmenko, Mangiapane, and Yegor might just be moved for assets. 2025 and 2026 are supposed to be strong drafts.

Still, having them all in the lineup until the deadline probably means the Flames won't be looking at a top-ten pick and teams trading for them won't be giving up high picks.

Maybe Conroy will end up looking like a genius when he ends up with a roster filled with good not great players and Vegas craters and the Flames end up with the franchise cornerstone with that pick.
