I’m not disagreeing with you as much as I’m pointing out, both have had recent deep runs in the playoffs. I do believe they should be separated and maybe paired with a kid. I don’t think Staal has been bad at all. I guess we’ll see.

Is it all effort/ assertiveness that is the issue with Frost and his playing time?

We can all see the skill is there at time but I don’t see the drive or to use a Bill Clement phrase he needs to be a “ Hunter” and not the “ pray”.

I imagine another turtle style game from the Flyers tonight.

We're a long shot to get the cup but we preserved our youth

Shoutout to the officiating in that panthers game, they really let them play and it was a tough grind it out game

I posted numerous times last season that Tortorella was misusing Cates. While I would normally agree that the lineup belongs to the coach. This is a situation where the GM has to have a conversation with the coach. Again!

I hope the Flyers trade Frost in the off season. The kid would probably do really well on a team that would allow him to be creative and dance around a bit. It’s a shame really. He obviously has top 6 talent but it seems he just hasn’t been able to put it all together consistently at this level. Regardless of blame (coach, himself, combination) it’s sad to see such a talent seemingly wasted.

I’ve come around to Torts in some respects, and so get that there must be a team system in place. But I don’t understand why the current coaching staff seemingly restricts certain talent aspects of players. Doesn’t a good coach find a way to combine his system and the player’s talent? 🤷‍♂️
