Love how Cates is playing, prior poster said solid 3rd line on any team and I agree.
Put new winger with Frost and Farabee. Coots with TK and Tip and off we go.
And for the love of God, sit ND |

Chiming in late as I was away. No big issue with Danny’s moves and I do like how he got the first by weaponizing the cap space. Was a little surprised about picking up Johnson and sending out the 4th but i see why it was done. I figured we’d be able to send johansen out with retained but I suspect other teams wanted picks for us to take him. Oh well. It’s the cost of getting a first. 4 firsts next two drafts. Coupled with 2 firsts we had last draft. Pretty good. We need to hit on all of these and we’ll be in a good spot. |

Early signs are good on Michkov and Bonk too. Let’s get this playoff push going, go win a round |

Now that would be funny to upset one of the big dogs in the east. I suspect even if we lose that we might be a tough out but I’ve been wrong before haha they’d definitely be huge underdogs. As a side note, it’s fun to see NJ struggle and have to change gears on a coach and goaltending. You could have made a case that missing Hamilton has set them off the rails and stood pat but it’s panic time even though they won a round last year. It’s a cautionary tale to show that it’s not a linear path to contention. They made good progress and are ahead of us in a rebuild but there are zero guarantees. |

B+ from me for the deadline.
DB could’ve sat on his hands with Walker, like the GM wizard Yzerman did with his ufas. But he indeed pulled the trigger and got his ask
EJ wouldn’t be here if not for the injuries. 4th round is no big deal. DB has shown a willingness to do a little work to get mid round picks by retaining salary.
Job well done.

Overall I’m good with the deadline trades. I was hoping for more but you don’t make trades just to make trades. At this point I trust Danny B. judgment based on moves so far. Sometimes the best trade is to not make one. I think he is balancing the future while not totally abandoning the current season. There is definitely value to having the young players experience a playoff run and hopefully actual playoff hockey. That experience is very valuable and will pay dividends in the future. I see Farabee, Foerster, Tippett, Drysdale, Sanheim, York, Zamula and Ersson as being key players of the Flyers future. Brink, Frost, Cates as current players that all will benefit from playing under playoff pressure hockey. That experience is as valuable as adding a possible draft pick who may or may not even make the team 4-5 years from now.
Of course more talented is needed but it will not all come in one trading session.
So far so good in my eyes. |

Really enjoying NJ struggle. Every team has injuries, the Hamilton thing hurts but inexcusable they are this bad. Partially on the GM |

I don't know that same deal was available to the Flyers but I liked Tampa's rental of Matt Dumba for a 2027 fifth-rounder several notches better than Philly's rental of Erik Johnson for a 2024 fourth round pick. |

EJ more of a Torts kind of player is my opinion why they didn't go that route with dumba |

What happened to his game to only fetch that?

I don't know. Dumba has snarl to him. He can bang bodies very well. |

His offense has dipped drastically. Not that he was ever a Karlsson type but I think his last season in Minnesota he only had points in the teens. I could be way off in that stat but his point totals plummeted. |

Had four assists in 2 games and his ice time steadily got dropped over the next three games. Saw this coming. |

No. They aren't moving Cates back to center and there's literally no other centers. But Torts will be Torts. |

Hard to believe that this team can hold on to a playoff spot with a 2nd D pairing of Staal/Johnson. Both of those guys would be 7/8 depth players on a top team. |
