For the record I didn't run away yesterday. It's called work and such. Sorry that my entire life doesn't revolve around this place like yours does. - Phillywhiteout
It wasn't yesterday. Yes, you ran away, even stating that you didn't have the time. Then continued to post. If you're going to call someone out. Be a man and follow through.
It's not complicated at all. I asked you a simple question. It took you 4 or 5 posts to make up your mind whether Tippett had top 6 potential. Now that we've finally cleared that up.
You also posted that you don't think that Frost has top 6 potential. As Bill posted. Since the 22/23 season, when Frost was moved off of the 4th line, in the same amount of time, Frost has scored at a rate of 0.66 points per game. While Tippett in the same time has scored at 0.67 points per game. Also pointing out that in that time frame, Frost has steadily improved defensively, while Tippett remains a defensive liability away from the puck.
Why does Tippett have top 6 potential and Frost doesn't? - MJL
I like Tippett's game more than Frost's game. He is engaged physically much more that Frost and he is a sniper that can create his own scoring chances off the rush (especially when he is playing with confidence). It's really that simple. I find Frost to be invisible in too many games for my liking and I think he shrivels against the more physical competition. You like Frost's game...Congrats!

That was referring to the other turd that said I ran away yesterday. I don't even know that you are referencing to be honest, but I'm sure you can enlighten me.
Now see, this is the difference between you and me (among many other things). I actually think this comment is funny! Nothing wrong with laughing at oneself and my original reply was just to get a rise out of you which it succeeded in doing? Not all that complicated once again. I laughed because it's the same $hit with you everyday. You hate Torts and everyone knows that. And we also know you love Frosty. Same $hit different day...see how that works? - Phillywhiteout
Criticizing Tortorella and posting about Frost is wait for it! Hockey talk! You have two choices. You can either join in the conversation intelligently or ignore it! Nobody is forcing you to read anything I post. See how that works?

I like parts of both players games. I think both players have top 6 potential. Some players are shooters and goal scorers. Some players are playmakers. They score at essentially the same rate. Tippett has more physicality while Frost is a much better defensive forward. Not the same player! Both have strengths and weaknesses. Both need to be more consistent offensively. The statistical evidence shows that your perception is wrong about Frost.
Do you know what Tippett needs to do if he is ever going to be a 40 goal scorer? Learn to play better off of his teammates and get in sync on rush plays, getting to soft spaces in soft coverage and working give and go's and down low cycles plays. Rather than just rely in creating individual offense. He's a long way from that.
See, we're talking hockey. Isn't that better than childish emoticons? See how this works?

Yeah, but it's so predictable. As soon as I saw Frost listed as the 4th line center I knew you'd be on here ripping Torts a new one and singing Frost's praises. I could set my watch to it. Speaking of watches, don't forget to move your clocks up an hour tonight. Spring ahead everyone! You're welcome!
LOL. Here is what I'm an activist for. Letting a skilled and talented young player on a team that is supposedly rebuilding, play for an entire season in the right situation without the fear of the quick leash and bias that the coach has for the player. I'm advocate and activist for playing all the young players who are capable of playing in the NHL on a rebuilding team. Rather than playing useless plugs who are either could never play or who are just done and have declined. - MJL

I'm the one that started the conversation, so I get the credit. Anyway, I don't dispute any of those facts. However, an example of what aggravates me about Frost's game was in the 3rd period the other night (I think it was the third period). Frost had a two on one chance. Go watch that as an example of why I don't like Frost's game as much as a guy like Tippett. The defender was obviously shading over to play the pass and Frost never even looked at the net. He telegraphed the pass which was easily broken up. He has to look to shoot more!!
I don't know that same deal was available to the Flyers but I liked Tampa's rental of Matt Dumba for a 2027 fifth-rounder several notches better than Philly's rental of Erik Johnson for a 2024 fourth round pick. - bmeltzer
Apparently the scouts liked Johnson. Tortorella hasn't study his game lately, watching his pregame presser.

agreed, id like to see more ginning, but with it being the deadline, and the 1 game sample from him, you cant cross your fingers and hope he looks good.
i know some say it isnt a rebuild, but trade our #1 D (provy) for a 1st, and one of our top D(walker) for a 1st. Its not clear it isnt a rebuild making those 2 moves - bradster
Moving Walker, who was playing exceptionally well is not an easy thing to do with the lack of playoff success over the past 12 or so years. DB gets full marks for sticking to the script

No you didn't start the conversation. In order for that to be the case, you would have to make a original post and not a reply. Or have been the blogger. You didn't start anything. You joined into an ongoing conversation. I agree that Frost tried to force a pass on that play and should've shot the puck. That's what playmakers do sometimes. However a player is best judged in large samples. As a playmaker, Frost is leading the team in total assists/60 and is leading the team in PP points with 9

The reality is that the Flyers negotiated with Walker to try and get a new contract done. They wanted to re-sign Walker. His demands were too high for their taste so they moved him.

What is the script. Rebuild, retool, winning 2 games in the first round?
Bills blog was just in time, seems the venom was picking up on the last one x guess thatโs what happens when an X moderator enters the conversation. - wcorvette
