I have watched at least 20 games of McDavids this year, probably closer to 30-35.
Johnson...I thought he had retired. - TheFreak
The point I was really trying to make is that you don't have to watch a player play a game to form an opinion on a player. There's lots of information out there. There are probably over 700 players in the NHL. No fan can watch every player play. A response to an opinion offered on a player of, how many times did you watch him play. Is not an intelligent response in my opinion.

Cup bound with DBs additions, baby!!
Let's go flyers! - Bob Habib
Hopefully the flyers will beat Rags 54 year drought ended in 1994. Rags has just one SC since 1940. Tells us how difficult it is. Specially with flyers roster filled with grinders |

Chiming in late as I was away. No big issue with Danny’s moves and I do like how he got the first by weaponizing the cap space. Was a little surprised about picking up Johnson and sending out the 4th but i see why it was done. I figured we’d be able to send johansen out with retained but I suspect other teams wanted picks for us to take him. Oh well. It’s the cost of getting a first. 4 firsts next two drafts. Coupled with 2 firsts we had last draft. Pretty good. We need to hit on all of these and we’ll be in a good spot. - Hextall271
Sets up well, pick well and they know have a farm system and NHL team they can deal from, they can re-shape the team with smart hockey trades.
I love watching other teams load up, hoping 2-3 years from now they are on the down swing and DB can take advantage.
My guess, we have a down year next year, compared to this year, be a good draft to draft higher in and a nice next step.

But they won’t 💯% bottom out like the Pens will, when the Cindy era is over. |

I like Tippett's game more than Frost's game. He is engaged physically much more that Frost and he is a sniper that can create his own scoring chances off the rush (especially when he is playing with confidence). It's really that simple. I find Frost to be invisible in too many games for my liking and I think he shrivels against the more physical competition. You like Frost's game...Congrats! - Phillywhiteout
Tippett is below-average defensively, not a particularly easy linemate to play with (he rarely finds seams and gets open for passes), goes through stretches where he misses the net far more often than he puts it on net. And the bottom line, Tippett's points-per-game are damn near identical to Frost's -- 0.67 vs. 0.66 -- dating back to early Dec. 2022.
But one's players inconsistencies and perceived flaws get harped on ad nauseum. The other's get excused amid an 8-year contract extension and endless leeway when he isn't on his game. |

The reality is that the Flyers negotiated with Walker to try and get a new contract done. They wanted to re-sign Walker. His demands were too high for their taste so they moved him. - MJL
why didnt they keep him for the playoff run? What was his ask? What was the flyers counter?

that was hextall, and we all know his evaluations of the young kids......not stellar. Didnt hextall trade up to draft him?

Why do I feel like if Johansen does well in the A, is a good soldier, we will see him up and Frost out.

I think Torts like to saddle Frost with Cam, don’t know why, but having Cam and ND, no one could lift that.
Let’s see, step up and stand out |

I just like his game better than Frost as I mentioned to MJL. That's not to say that I agree with the way Torts has been messin with Frost. Tippett has tons of raw skill IMO, but he also has lots of work to do to become a well rounded player.

One guys “points per game” are more heavily in the goal department. Not disagreeing with what you stated but big difference than just blanketing points. |

What does blanketing points mean? Goal scoring and playmaking are symbiotic. Both need each other.

And the other's are in the assist department -- weighted toward primaries. But are needed on a team. |
