Because they are a minor league team. Question is not how many years before they make the playoffs, but how many years before they are even a .500 team ?
Interesting shift in the D zone for Bedard -- he was playing D like a beer-leaguer -just 'covering' whoever. The thing is - it was actually Jones' guy (dead give away is - it was a winger at around the Chicago goalline).
Jones had to direct Bedard to his guy - and he wasn't able to get back there until that guy got (predictably) fed the puck and got a shot off (or I think got off a shot)... Still a little work to do there ... it's noticeable when they fall into the habit of playing the (for good reason) seldom seen even strength box... (usually seen only when killing penalties)...
Apparently Reichel has been recalled, but not playing tonight. - DarthKane
Who cares- does it really matter with him? There’s enough empty bodies on this team- get through the season healthy, regroup, and hopefully KD does his thing in the offseason (fingers crossed)- reichel is an after thought at this point IMO

Yes. I agree not necessarily for this season, but hopefully getting him back on a path where he's contributing again like he was at the end of last season helps put them in a better place for the next one.
Just tuned in. Nice to see that the tank is back on. - Dieselhead
The trap the offensive speed ---- it didn't take long to to get 5 of our six defenders promenading in around in circles, never covering the moving silver helmets.
I though KK had a "learning experience, and the other youngsters look like youngsters along with Russian, the Policeman, the two the Chicago area rearguards. Jones was a minus two the rest a minus one I think, but he was the the defender who was locked in and playing defense.

I didn't get a chance to watch the game last night, i guess i don't understand why some think we are going to be good all of a sudden. Looks like for now we are beating teams at our water level, which is a positive step. I think this is the first match up between these 2 teams this year. Maybe they play them better next time, maybe not.

In my mind, a guy who plays four years of college hockey = a guy who plays four years in the CHL. If I were a betting man, my money would be on that last night WAS the highlight of his career...

He was never really known as a big offensive player. My guess his ceiling is Jimmy Vesey, which isn’t bad for a mid-3rd round pick.

We ran him out of town cuz he was a bum. Now that’s he’s good, management should have kept him. - paulr
I always thought Forsling was waived by the Blackhawks, but not true. Stan traded Forsling along with goalie Anton Forsberg to Carolina for DeHaan in the summer of 2019. This is when Stan added some vets to the defense and traded for Maatta about the same time.
Forsling stayed within the Canes' organization until 2021 when he was placed on waivers and then picked up by Florida.

Forsling was a late before season waiver pick-up just like Tinordi. Good on him for making the most of it. If he wasn’t picked up by anyone, he was probably slated to go back to Europe never to be heard from again.

Forsling had a very strange-ish time in Chicago. He had parts of two season where he played very well and then for some reason, injury or loss of confidence, he really struggled.
