Ty, No question at all that last years All-In has definitely shaped this Team, And I have ZERO problem with it, Last Year was the First Year I can remember Not complaining about Management, I mean they did EVERYTHING perfect last year, and so it goes. As far as this years Team they only Issue I've had is that after they Lost Lucic (yes, that's on him)They never looked to replace him, And Been saying it for YEARS, since this team lost #86, they've been SOFT as poope on the Blueline and That's what matters when the game steps up a notch, I just can't believe it's never been addressed, Again this Team has played over their Head All year, it's a credit to them but Once Teams start that Forecheck and Pounding they're in trouble, this year will be no different. Chucky will be the #1 Target, I do like the addition of Peeke, he's solid but Gryz-Carlo-Hampus, they will get pounded.
So, Let's hope for the Little Leafers.

I agree.
Miller would have made a difference against St Louis.
Hopefully they have a shot at getting Hanifin in the off season…that is if Vegas doesn’t sign him.

Why Gryz is still in the lineup over Lohrei makes no sense to me. Lohrei is not a bruiser but he is so much better defensively. Gryz is simply not big or strong enough.

Carlo and Lindholm's game isn't hammering guys they're puck movers. They need to be paired with someone who is. I think Carlo is more sound defensively and having another solid season. Something is wrong with Lindholm. Has to be. Just been brutal with turnovers this season.

I do agree with your point though. They needed to get a nasty guy back there to break up the Lindholm Carlo paring and move the other with McAvoy. Someone like Schenn, Zadorov, Tanev etc.

This team needs a top 4 shut down D and a 1C. If they're going to get anywhere in the post season they will have to be pretty much perfect which is highly unlikely. Pasta and McAvoy will be neutralized. It is all going to have to come from secondary scoring.

They are also missing a true Captain. I love Marchy, but he is no Captain the others guys wearing the "A"s aren't either. There is no true leader on this team. It seems like Monty is FINALLY getting after the team (based on reports from yesterday's practice) but it seems a bit late as the poor play, attention to detail, and frankly lack of effort in multiple games has been happening since the all-star break. I think this team can be a sleeper in the playoffs but some things have to change and it's primarily on the players.

It comes down to who plays better together really. Mcavoy/Gryz and Carlo/ Lindholm are your best pairs.

I like Lohreis upside but he is not a better defender than Gryz RIGHT NOW. Offensively, yes. Lohrei is slow in his own zone/corners. He is pretty good at breakouts but primarily when he's not under duress. Gryz is very good at creating himself space in an instant and moving the puck quickly. Sometimes the ability to break a play OUT of your own zone under pressure is more important as being a big body.

I still think Gryz is incredibly underrated defensively here but it doesn't help that he has been banged up the last few playoff runs.

I will say this though. Gryz gets in his own head when he starts going in and out of the lineup. Either injured or healthy scratch.

I am torn on who should be playing on that third pairing though between Shatt, Peeke, Wotherspoon and Lohrei. They could definitely use more grit and I don’t know if Peeke is the guy.

Yeah, we were very spoiled with Quader then Miller, haven't been the same on the blue line since and it's what has been truly missing.

Yeah, pretty ugly but 2 pts looks nice and clinched thanks to the Red Wings loss.

A PP goal and did not lead in turnovers.

Not quite.

Det has 10 more games worth a potential 20pts - which if tied could give Det more Regulation Wins.

Just going by what was on NHL.com yesterday before the games. A Bruins win and any type of loss by Detroit and they are in.
