Looking at the schedules for wings and caps, Flyers have the easier road it would appear. Caps and wings play again.

I don’t know, Seeler healthy and If Drysdale is, who sits. Did not like Johnson but I was going to post last night he was coming along, then that play where he checked himself into the boards and the Rags scored, changed the whole game. I hesitate to sit Ginning and Attard, I think they play well together. Should Drysdale even see the ice, coming back with playoff hockey.

Thoughts

What would you do
What will Torts do

Two opposite things.

I would let Seeler play if healthy, he warrants that much from his play this year. I would not let Drysdale return to the ice this year. Shut him down and get him ready for next year. He needs a training regime to put on some weight and strength in his upper body. Just let him heal, train, and be 10 lbs heavier in September and ready to go.

My d pairings:

Sanhiem/ York
Seeler/ Zamula
Ginning/ Attard

Staal -7th

What Torts would do:

bring back Drysdale and play him 24 minutes a night. Vet heavy presence for the playoffs:

Sanheim/ Seeler
Drysdale/ York
Staal/ Johnson
Zamula -7th

Ginning and Attard returned to AHL for no reason, as they miss the playoffs.

Unless it deflected, yes.

Still... Adam Fox with all the time in the world crossing the royal road... and the shot was basically perfectly placed.

Looks like a gimme save to the layman but I'm guessing most goalies would say otherwise.

From above the circles, a makeable save.

Flyers were fortunate that Shesterkin wasn't very good.

Poehling in the background holding his arm like it should be in a sling certainly did not help. I think it was Cates that crossed in front Ersson right before the shot also did not help.

Ersson was fine last night. Shesterkin gave up five also. Just want a win when you score five on Shesty.

I don't know why more teams don't put 3 forwards out there 3 on 3. But especially in the case of the Flyers, they really should do it, it's their best option to win. Sanheim is not going to help the team defend because he is a horrible defender. He is not going to help the team regain possession because he can't keep up with top forwards from other teams. So maybe I am just a visionary, but I would try 3 forwards if I were the Flyers, they got nothing else to lose while Drysdale is out.

And notice how I answered your question without calling you names like a child, clueless or idiot. Who's the troll?

- jd250

Some coaches afraid to break tradition and try something out of the box is my guess. Would think a team out of the playoff race or something would try it out.

Johnson sits. That's an easy one. He has been better than Staal and that is about all I can say about him. I guess he has been fine. Risto was/is better than Staal and Johnson.
- mickel25

If all 3 injured defenseman return it is clear (to me) Attard and Ginning will sit for 2 of them. They are only playing what 14 minutes a night? The coach will go the vet route.

then he needs to decide if Zamula or Johnson will sit. I wont be surprised either way with his choice. Zamula has played more minutes though Johnson is that vet blanket the coach will want to cuddle wit.

I think Ginning has shown he is a solid defender on the puck and off. Zamula has done well on the puck but gets lost off the puck. Zamula does not produce enough on the PP to make up the gap.

Staal is not good. Johnson has been ok. Risto is better than either of those guys.

Agree on what should happen. Dont think adding Drysdale to this type of hockey is a gimmie.

What will Torts do

Seeler in and Ginning out
If Drysdale in, we will see Attard out until Johnson next slow foot bumbling play. If Staal see’s the ice, season is over and they missed the playoffs

On ice results for Zamula defensively are solid. Smaller sample but so far, Staal is better than Johnson.

When you are able to score 5 on shesterkin, you really need to get two points. This one is going to cost us I’d say. The caps have a tougher sched on paper left but they’ve been beating everyone lately. We’ll have to take care of business and hope that other teams help us out a bit.

Young players are getting valuable experience playing meaningful games down the stretch.

The goals the Rangers scored last night were goal scorer goals for the most part. Would you like the save, of course. But I would also like to go 82-0-0 and get 82 shutouts. It simply is not going to happen.

I thought the Flyers played well, couldn't finish on many chance that could have made it 3-0 or given them the lead late in regulation. Frost is playing well and getting points.

Glad they got the point, would have preferred the two (especially leading 2-0) on to the next game.

If healthy and not at greater risk of significant injury, both JD and Seeler need to be in the lineup. Attard and Ginning should remain and I’d sit Z and Johnson. But I think Attard and/or Ginning might have to be returned to LHV as they can only keep so many on the NHL roster.

Sanheim is not horrible defensively. I know why teams don't use 3 forwards. Your standard fall back is a player can't keep up with top forwards. Sanheim is a very good skater and has no issue keeping up with any player.

If you don't want your opinions being labeled as idiotic, use more intelligence.

He's -19 on the season which is pretty bad. The next worse +/- is -12. Atkinson is -22, but I don't even count him cause he is cooked.

I hope the Flyers don't breathe a sigh of relief with the gauntlet behind them. The Habs just beat the Avs last night on their home ice and the Devils blew out the Laffs. None of these games down the stretch will be easy and they better not let up. Of course, if they continue to get shoddy goalie play it won't matter anyway. Ersson with a .778 save pct. last night. Eh what?

Caps played 3 teams off a back to back last week.
