Thanks Trevor!
It makes no sense to play Markstrom tonight. Like none. |

Thanks Trevor, it’s been a long season, I appreciate your writing both here and chn.
Wolf should be playing tonight, we all expect Markstrom to be gone before next season. Why wouldn’t they want to see what he can do? I also would love to see Klapka get a few games, fully expecting him to make the team next year. Why wouldn’t they try Zary at center for the rest of the year? It just seems that someone other than Huska is making roster decisions. Hoping Anaheim breaks out tonight, Flames don’t need to screw this up, but probably will. |

What are Wolf's stats in the month of Marhc....they can't be worse than Markstrom's
if he's slightly injured, he should rest and not make his stats look even worse going into the off-season

They’re much better. Only blemish is .778 against St. Louis.

Do the Flames draft Iginla? That’s what I want to know. - K-man25
If he's available they would be foolish not to pick him in their spot. |

Looked like Huska was not too thrilled with his team tonight. Refusing to pull Markstrom at the end of the game and basically conceding defeat. Like most Ducks games, I kept waiting to see how they were going to lose this one. |

The only two explanations I can come up with is Wolf is slightly injured too and needed the game off, or they want to ride that undisclosed lower body injury that Markstrom has been dealing with to a lower pick. |

Sorry but I can’t see them intentionally playing an injured player in hopes of losing, to big a risk it turns into a career ending one and get nothin at all so I assume your being sarcastic ? |

You're ignoring the obvious explanation. Markstrom played well against the Kings and they won. Huska's job is still to win hockey games. They'll be trying to win for at least seven more games this season. Get used to it. I suspect they'll just go with win and you'll play the next one for the goalies. That's likely what they've been doing since Vlader went down, but neither goalie has been winning.
The games are also meaningless. It's not like playing Wolf is going to make any difference about next season. It doesn't really matter if he gets 2, 4, or 8 starts the rest of the way. |

Actually playing wolf is huge it’s called experience and it will show if they should try move Markstrom or not so yes it makes a huge difference for next year |

Playing Wolf should be a priority right now. He needs to play to get ready for the playoffs. If he’s just going to sit and watch then send him to the Wranglers so he can play hockey. Call up Dansk to open the door. Plus we don’t need to showcase Markstrom behind a sh!tty effort from a disinterested team if the plan is to trade him at the draft.

Maybe if he was called up last week, but he's already played in 12 games this season. He's played well enough in a few of them to have confidence he can play in the league. Playing in 2 or 8 of the remaining meaningless games will have zero impact on next season. |

Huska's priority is to win, as it should be. If Wolf doesn't want to sit and watch, all he needs to do is win. If he wins tomorrow, Wolf probably starts on Saturday. |

Win and your in is a move for vets, this kid needs to know the team stands behind him win or lose that’s how you build confidence that’s why it’s so important |

Again, it's April and they have a zero percent chance of making the playoffs. He's the team's goalie of the future unless he's awful. He knows this. Everyone knows this. Him splitting starts with the goalie of the now isn't going to make him doubt that.
Anything that happens for the rest of this season is going to have zero effect on his confidence moving forward unless it's something extreme. Losing to the Ducks on a Tuesday because most of the team didn't show up isn't benefiting his development.
You're acting like he hasn't played in weeks and will be lucky to see the net again. It was one extra start for the team's MVP after a win. |

I imagine it's all about trying to stay in Markstrom's good books. He holds all the cards. As much as I want to see Wolf play, I want to see a good return for Markstrom.
Anyways, we lost to the Ducks. I could not be happier.

You’re starting to sound like every English language arts teacher I’ve ever had.
Jokes aside, you make a good point. This topic will probably get spicier if Wolf loses and they have to decide whether Markstrom@75% is the route they want to go with against the Oilers.

With the D pairings were throwing out there right now it could be Kipper in net and were still getting thumped most nights. Give Wolf the net and hope the ping pong balls fall our way on May 6th! |

Hanley-Andersson is one for the record books. Working out how that group will look as we speak. Keeping Joel there after he clearly got injured last game seems unlikely. Kylington-Andersson has been a statistical nightmare this season as well. |
