We went to the same "internet auction."
I have the blue coaching pants.
Good franking pants! The only Fanatics item I've ever seen that wasn't complete crap. - Atomic Wedgie
I have a couple "performance" shirts (a t shirt and a long sleeve t shirt) that are Fanatics Pro stock from that auction as well and they are fantastic.
There is a huge difference between that stuff and the Fanatics retail stuff in quality.

It's been hilarious how even winning a round didn't quell the predictions that the Leafs would never win a round. - Zezel
A lot of people said last year that "winning a round" would be successful.
Those same people back down on that after the Florida series.
People just want more, they won't be satisfied until they win a cup.
The positive note is when they do it will be glorious. Glorious for the fans and miserable for the Leaf haters.
I'd actually be worried for some people out there that revolve their fandom and life around hating the leafs. |

You used to.
I have a full on team stock but never issued St. Pats coaches rink suit (pants and jacket). Not the new ones but the ones they wore a few years ago - all green Fanatics Pro (which is WAY better quality than the Fanatics retail stuff) that is incredibly comfy and has got a lot of use lounging aroung the house, going to late beer league hockey or even on St. Paddy's day.
I paid a whopping $69 Cdn for the whole suit back when real sports just started the whole "auction off everything surplus or used we will throw out" phase.
Now - coaching rink suit, $99 for just the pants.

$395 for a "team-worn" practice jersey.
I'm not starting to understand how a company with $4.1 million in revenues can be valued at over $5 billion.
Apparently there's more than one sucker born every minute.

That is nothing to a lot of people. Rich people just want things, and they will pay to get them.
Honestly game worn poop is pennies, wait until you hear what some rich people will pay for Pokemon cards just to have them. |

Davis Scheider back in today.
Keep him in for ffs.
I don't get it. I know he struggles against high fastballs and want to keep him away from certain pitchers but he is what? 25?
He is the most improved player in all of baseball over the last year and a bit...can we not let him learn? Figure it out and become an important piece?
But no, the Jays like to use their calculators and take out Berrios in game 2 and never play Babe Schneider. - Santo_44

I mean he won them a game off a pretty unhittable pitch from Hader.
Won't get better at weaknesses sitting on the bench. And they had what? 1 hit in the 2 games he didnt play in last series? |

I just quickly looked up BA which is not great, but he is def better against LH.
but Stroman is starting today who is righty. so *shrug*
.326 vs LH
.247 vs RH
probably just a matter of, they need to get him into games, even if the LH/RH thing doesnt always line up |

If they didn't use the "we have to get better from within" line last offseason I wouldn't question it so much.
.247 is not bad in the Jays lineup, and there's always the HR threat.
To me he is a guy that actually could help a severe weakness, (frank)ing use him. |

If there are people willing to buy it the ownership would be a flat out failure if they chose to give it away for free and not sell it. |

I completely agree.
Atkins and the coach are trying to outsmart the sport of the baseball and they keep failing each time.
I understand reading the numbers and using them to help form a decision and plan, but its sports. Sometimes you just have to go with the hot hand, F the numbers. Besides, how is a player supposed to improve his numbers vs a certain type of pitcher if you never allow him to play against that type of pitcher.

If the Leafs won, I assume the whinge-watchers would seamlessly switch to whingeing that if only the Leafs had listened to them they would have won earlier. Or, they would just continue on saying they can never win without missing a beat. |

Sounds a lot like Kyle Dubas in previous years. A core of young star players and use analytics to try and fill in the gaps. It didn't work for hockey and doesn't work here. It never measures intangibles and leaves gaps. Just like the Dubas regime, it has a below average Head Coach and management who think they're smarter than anyone else. It's why they'll always be out of the playoffs early, if they even make it into the playoffs. It must be a Rogers thing. Everything they touch turns to poope.

Yeah it feels like they think they are dealing with robots and absolutes. Confidence is a huge thing as well. How do you think a young Davis Scheider feels when his manager can't even trust him at all against certain pitches.
He isn't Vogelbach, he is a 25 year old rookie that has a lot of room to grow.
It is frustrating to watch, and I feel as Leaf fans we just went through it with Dubas. This heavy reliance on stats DOES bring some positive outcomes but at the end of the day there are far too many negatives.
Find a balance ffs. The annoying part is they bet on their guys after a failed offseason...but now they won't bet on them? clueless. |

If peeps are dumb enough to buy them, why not.
Biggest failure from the Jays renos is not selling off the seats they removed. Could have made a minimum $640 000 (8000 seats x $80 a piece). Im guessing at how many seats they removed.
Either way they would have made some coin |

Ya it's wild - funny thing in the summer they have their equipment sale at Real Sports where they set up an area in the concourse where you go into the store and then end up in the concourse.
I snagged a couple goalie cut Camo Practice jerseys (never used, no names and no #'s on them) for either $99 or $149 each and sold one to my kid brother. There were really good deals on alot of the gear then, including buy one stick get one half price and a bunch of the sticks are brand new stock never even been taped. I only glanced at the player sticks but the price for a goalie stick was less than retail for one, then you could get a 2nd for 50% off that price.....I regret not snagging a couple twigs for sure.
It's all timing on this stuff though. My brother and I were at a game last year, in the concourse on the 300 level they had a mini booth with some player worn jerseys (n big names really) etc. and they had some of the jerseys they wore for the outdoor game vs Buffalo that were again team issued but not worn and never had any names or #'s on them. They were selling for like $250 or $300 a pop and again they had a couple goalie jerseys (which are really hard to find in pro stock jerseys for a good price because obviously they make less of them).
Brother and I hadn't had enough beer to justify the cost and passed.
I see those same goalie cut jerseys listed on line and selling for 5 - 600 bucks each.
Missed opportunity to make a few clams. |

Boston is the easiest opponent but would hurt the most if they lost.
Rangers probably the hardest but its fresh and fun, its entertainment at the end of the day.
Florida is a good middle ground.
At the end of the day I don't really care. Probably rangers if I had a choice but only because it feels fresh. |
