I think I can speak for Skalapy, and perhaps most of us, in saying that the lack of alliteration in this blog title is disappointing to say the least.

From last thread:

That's such a bad look. It's amplified by Ohtani claiming he spoke to the fan and they agreed to give up the ball, but he never did - and the fan was simply bullied into surrendering a $100k ball.

MLB is leading the pack right now in the IDGAF mentality of professional sports making it clear they don't give a crap about you. None of them do, but baseball doesn't care what you think.

The Leafs now sell the warmup pucks. I can't remember the price, but I think it was between $15-$20.

For franking used warmup pucks.

And I don't really know how to feel about this - I mean, if there are people stupid enough to buy them, why the frank not?

That is kind of ridiculous, why not just give them away?!? Do they get stamped with the date and teams like the game pucks? If so, you're not going to reuse them. I suppose for some people it's cool to commemorate a game you were at.

I remember getting a brand new, never used lacrosse ball from Neil Doddridge of Baltimores NLL team. He was in the penalty box and just grabbed one out of the box of new balls, held it up, and tossed it into the crowd. Literally, it was like any other lacrosse ball in existence, but it was still pretty cool to me. Sure as hell not going to pay money for something like that though!

Yes, they do in fact get stamped.

They basically sell off any crap they used to throw out.

I get that they sell the used gloves, sticks, helmets and skates - but now they sell off the shower shoes, workout shirts, anything that they give to the players that the players don't take home.

And you think you'd get it at a discount, but no.

Most people that buy them, 15 dollars is pennies.

Like the Kurtis from Alberta dude, that guy has every leafs memorabilia that you can think of.

The dude is loaded, the Leafs print money. This is why the Leafs can do whatever they want financially with the cap.

I don't know why the Leafs management have a love affair with Timothy Liljegren? He's very timid and not strong enough along the boards. They complain about Timmins being injured a lot. Have they looked at the time that Liljegren has been out of the lineup the last few years? I'll take Timmins over him any day. At least he can skate the puck out of danger and makes a great first pass, plus he has a better reach capacity. Play Liljegren and you will surely lose.

You used to.

I have a full on team stock but never issued St. Pats coaches rink suit (pants and jacket). Not the new ones but the ones they wore a few years ago - all green Fanatics Pro (which is WAY better quality than the Fanatics retail stuff) that is incredibly comfy and has got a lot of use lounging aroung the house, going to late beer league hockey or even on St. Paddy's day.

I paid a whopping $69 Cdn for the whole suit back when real sports just started the whole "auction off everything surplus or used we will throw out" phase.

Now - coaching rink suit, $99 for just the pants.

Leafs have good players, but your top five players can’t all be soft. A first round exit is and will be the norm with this bunch.

Davis Scheider back in today.

Keep him in for ffs.

I don't get it. I know he struggles against high fastballs and want to keep him away from certain pitchers but he is what? 25?

He is the most improved player in all of baseball over the last year and a bit...can we not let him learn? Figure it out and become an important piece?

But no, the Jays like to use their calculators and take out Berrios in game 2 and never play Babe Schneider.

Would you give something you can sell away for free?

Hockey is primarily a business, the sport is secondary. If they have an additional way to make money due to the sport it would be nothing short of a business failure to not do so.

Even Canada’s population is only about 40% hockey fans and it’s pretty damn safe to say companies like Rogers and Bell have investors who don’t give a rat’s ass about the sport other than what can be made, and those investors are far more important to ownership than the fanbase big time.

We went to the same "internet auction."

I have the blue coaching pants.

Good franking pants! The only Fanatics item I've ever seen that wasn't complete crap.

It's been hilarious how even winning a round didn't quell the predictions that the Leafs would never win a round.
