The Flyers were never going to be a bottom 10 team, Even Coots only playing well for a 1/2 season, the Flyers were going to be at best a bubble team or at worse what we see now. They were not getting a top 5 pick, so why not make the playoffs, sadly not getting that either.
They have the assets, lets hope DB plays them well. This draft is not supposed to be that great, 2025 they say is better. If you can move up this draft for YOUR guy, go for it. If not, trade away for picks for the next draft. DB has picks and players, get creative and lets take the next step. Always thought they would take a step back next season, didn't think it would happen this late, in this season.
Be honest, we all knew, all the good fortune with injuries, with winning games this season, Coots seemingly bouncing back, same for Cam, good goalie tandem, Walker being a top 4 D, we are Flyer fans, we had to know the whole time it would come crashing down. Give DB this, with playoffs on the line, Hart out, Seeler out, he moved the piece that hurt the most, Walker. |

They moved Walker because they couldn't come to a fair agreement on a new deal. They wanted to re-sign him. I personally don't place much value on the team making the playoffs this season. It would've been entertaining to watch playoff Flyers hockey but that's about it. Big picture it doesn't mean much so I don't think moving Walker hurts that much. I wish that the reason for doing so was because of a rebuild but not the case. What are they going to do next? The right thing overall or the wrong thing? Time will tell.

Did they move because they could not sign him? Sure. I am also sure the value they were willing to offer was never going to be accepted by Walker, they knew it and moved him. They could have done worse, signed him or just kept him with no extension. I hope what comes next is smart. The losing now, should be a good reminder, they need #1 D and 1C and a 2C. They get a 1st for Laughton, take it. If there is a deal for TK, take it. My guess, TK's play down the stretch will lower his value some. That could lead to an extension, that scares me. They should come out of the draft and FA with 2 more first and 2 more 2nd's.
On the bright side, what I have seen from Drysdale lately, kid adds good weight, he could ceiling out as top pair.

Before this season; they were 100% expected to be a bottom 10 team. Most hockey media and everyone on this site had them near the bottom. |

Craig Button tho...
- Tomahawk Button is another stodgy Canadian that hates the Flyers. It's his way of sticking it to them. Funny that he doesn't even mention MM in his report. He and Steve Kouleas are the same turds...just in a different toilet. |

Ouch! That hurts. At least it was Button, who gets as much wrong as he does right. So there’s that - mikeyo27
Does anyone here really think Button is wrong about Gauthier? The kid has had a hell of a year, everything taken at it's face value. I think he will live up to the hype, he really does seem to be elite in multiple areas, and is up for the Hobey Baker award later this week.

I think he's the real deal. |

So a pro reporter and TSN analyst is going to put Gauthier #1 because he dislikes the Flyers?
Ok then. |

can only move 10 spots in lottery right? 12 long way from top 10, in my opinion. Funny 12 gets you a bubble PO team.

Cutter has been great playing on arguably the most talented college team ever. But it’s laughable to put him above Michkov. Michkov leads his team in goals and is 2nd in points on a team with no studs. He’s playing against seasoned pros every night.
