Read about Leads probably looking to have JT re-up on a discount. That would be ideal in my opinion. If you could get him at an amount that is a tick above average for a 60point, pp, face off player - he would be awesome as 3C (that they lack)
Just need to make sure you get that 2C though to replace. I get Lindholm hasn’t crushed it in Van and at times in Calgary but I would like him for Leafs 2C personally. Super responsible player with offence upside and a Swede to play with Willy. I can see it working. His amount won’t be too high either suspect based on how things went this year.

FL recently has been playing like home ice doesn’t matter much to them.
It may mean more to FL if they want Barkov out vs Auston as much as possible.
Both teams are good on the road, so who knows?
The games will be close is about all I’m sure of |

JT - Big23Questions
JT isn't up for another year, so I'm not sure if it's even doable. On one hand I like Lindholm's defensive responsibility - on the other, I think he's a bit overrated.
In 2021-2022 the Gaudreau-Lindholm-Tkachuk line was +41 at 5v5 for Calgary. The line was otherworldly. You had Gaudreau as a creative puck carrier and distributor, Lindholm as a defensive contributor and Tkachuk as a shift disturber.
In 2022-2023 after the departure of Gaudreau and Tkachuk, Lindholm was paired up with Dube and Toffoli or Huberdeau and Toffoli and while the lines were marginally successful (+5 / +1), there was hardly the same degree of success. I mean Dube is fast, but he is not overly creative and Toffoli is more of a shooter than anything else. The line really lacked both zone entry and personality and the thing that started to stand out to me is that Lindholm is a contributor but not a leader.
This year, prior to the trade, Lindholm was lined up with Sharangovich and Mangiapane or Huberdeau to very little success (-1 and -4, respectively). In Vacouver he has hardly had an opportunity to get his feet under him, being thrown in mixes as a RW with Hoglander and Pettersson or as a Centre with Garland and Podkolzin, or as a LW with Miller and Boeser . . . He's had very mixed results, but really Vancouver has not given him a fair shake at all. The most he's played with any pairing is 58 minutes of 5v5 time.
On the 2nd line in Toronto if you gave him time and Nylander to reprise the Gaudreau role that would be the best thing to happen to him in a while - but you'd have to find someone to provide the moxy. I don't think Tavares fits with Lindholm - they are both too vanilla - solid players, but who's bringing the battle? Who's winning the puck? So if they want Lindholm it comes with moving JT to line 3. $11m for a 3C or 3W is a hard pill to swallow.

If we beat the Devils tonight , the Devils are officially eliminated (Detroit plays Pittsburgh Thursday, so one of them will end up with 86 points, which the Devils won't be able to match) which in theory makes the return game vs. the Devils on Thursday a little easier to win.
Just sayin'... |

Florida .622 at home; .683 on the road
Toronto .603 at home; .684 on the road
Clearly we would crush you if we had road ice advantage.

Ya man - JT has another year. I was talking about after that going forward cause I don’t see them asking him to waive/buyout.
I’m a fan all day of Lindholm. Would be a real good 2C for sure. Interesting stats with his production eh |

I don’t have a handle on salaries - what’s the avg for a 3C at around 60pts…if there even is a comparable |

Maybe they will remember how to win there. 1-4 in their last 5 there, with the win via a shootout. |

I didn't know that! I also just learned that other descendants of Bass Reeves included a CFL player and an NFL/CFL player.
