The big 3 are pushing 40 now haha...they should be the veteran leadership. However, to answer your question, yes, perhaps...which is kind of ridiculous but...perhaps. - MattStrat
That's the coaches job. Maybe if a kid needed straightened out, but the coach should deal with a disgruntled vet.

Here’s a hockey related question. Do the Pens need to sign a vocal veteran for the lockeroom. Sid has always been described as the silent lead by example type, Letangs like a silent intense competitor and I’m not sure Malkin lays it on the line game in and out enough to call guys out. Like if Smith was actually moping around all year someone needs to call him out on the lockeroom. - Grinder47
Eller seemed to take on that role this year. He definitely laid into the team publicly when they needed it. |

Would love to be able to engineer a trade.. What Dubas should be saying to NJ is: I'll send you Sully's cell # and if he wants to go to NJ, you send us your 1st round pick . |

Nah. It hits differently when it’s a teammate. |

I was rejected on this site also for saying how I felt about everything pittsburgh. Apperently I was correct as some of you only could call me out on some spelling of words or something rather minute? It seems the regulars on here don't like the truth, along with that horrid person they call the potus? or lack of. This city seems as clueless as biden. God forbid they make changes to upgrade and bring in something of a change to help this core? And no karlsson is not the answer. All he did was take up cap space from restructuring of that horrid bottom 6..That and sullivan adapt to nothing.
Let me know what sullivan or tomlin has done for many years now? Keep running the same crap on ice or field with sullivan and tomlin ..Don't change nothing. Some of you don't even live near pittsburgh and apparently don't read the paper or website here of truly what is going on or not going on. I'll say it again.. the pittsburgh fans love mediocre. |

Yeah but like I’ve been a Pens fan since I was 5 years old, and I have no control over the situation. So I’m just going to female dog about it and still root for my favorite hockey team. MmmK. |

I hate to break it to you but everybody has known the Penguins need a coaching change for years. Many of us, including me, could also see that FSG loves Sully and so it wasn't going to happen this past year, no matter what happened on the ice (and it didn't). |

Well thanks for the sarcastic response man...But hate to break to you but there's more issues than sullivan..Did you know that? Or you just don't like to talk about this and sweep it under the rug, like everyone else.

Your issue is you don't engage in any counterpoints. For example, you like to complain about Karlsson, but you want to ignore the contracts dumped in the trade. They could have done better isn't an actual answer with a somewhat realistic alternative.
The actual trade is what swung me. I was kind of on the fence with Karlsson, but I liked what they accomplished. Unfortunately, a lot of that was for the first two years and they didn't do well the first year. |

It's a fair question. I remember there was concern that when Hornqvist left there was nobody who would do that. Nobody is probably telling Malkin what to do, but would be nice to get some of the passengers more motivated if they had that type of leader. |

The worst case of Penguin Derangement Syndrome I've seen. I say we dress him up like a German wire hair and ship him to South Dakota. They'll know what to do with him.

Now that that thought and stretch it out into a series of articles for the Post-Gazette and you've got a career on your hands. :p |

Give Rod Brindamour a blank cheque for whatever he wants. Dubas can narrow a list down to 2-4 Gms and let him pick his choice of GM and go from there. |

I think I just like to root for the teams Pens have had good battles with once the Pens are eliminated. That and Guentzel playing up bullpoop to the media like a child just makes me want to see him fail. |

No you wanted to see him fail before and latched onto the fact that he was upset the Pens didn’t try to extend him as a reason to confirm your priors |

Has any team ever done something like this (hire coach first, give them say in GM hire)? |

Not publicly at least. It certainly ruins your ability to trade the existing coaches contract if they know you have to. |
