Whatever happened to that Flyers first round pick in Wyatt Johnstons's draft year... - TobyFlenderson
wasn't that the one that went to Buffalo for Risto? |

IMHO I would much rather have 2 1st then move up. This draft is all over the place with projected players. A good player will be there. Just pick BPA and trade Laughton and TK.
Do NOT resign Johnson. Guy is gassed. - coffee junkie

Hopefully Marner can play Center lol
Seriously though Danny needs to pull something off. They badly need a quality and reliable top 6 center. Anything besides Michkov should be on the table. - hereticpride
Something tells me Marner ain't waiving his NMC to come play for a "rebuilding" team coached by Torts. |

EJ : “I've loved it here in Philly. This is an unbelievable locker room with a great culture and a team that plays with a great identity.”
Johnson is just begging to be resigned so he probably will because he is "good in the locker room".

If he’s the defacto 7/8 D man that’s fine. I’d rather have a guy like that not playing than a kid not getting minutes.
There are probably better options available tho. |

Hard to believe but it's been slightly less than 3 years since Fletcher brought in Keith Yandle for his veteran presence and then the coach wasn't allowed to bench him until he set the new iron man record.
Hard to imagine throwing away games because a player who should've retired instead of signing a final contract was promised playing time to set an iron man streak (which is undeserved if the player can't play at an NHL level anymore) which helped get the coach fired.
This was just days after trading for Risto. As bad as Yandle was Risto was the worse of the 2 transactions for what he cost at the time and what he costs even now.

Barkov should win the Selke. Any comments on Matthews getting nominated?

What's there to comment on? He's really good defensively. |

The worst part of the yandle and risto transactions was the extension given to risto.
You saw first hand how bad he sucks and doubled down to save face. This is what bad organizations do |

I’d gladly trade rosters with Buffalo Arizona or Ottawa any day of the week. It doesn’t matter who scores now on roster. If you need to trade a frost in package to gain better talent you do it without hesitation. - Stayin alive The Sabres have had great potential for 13 years now and still haven't made the playoffs, and they just brought back a retread coach. Yikes!

I would love to see the Flyers land a Catton or Eiserman at #12.
I'm a little scared the Flyers somehow win the lottery (#2 or #3) and end up drafting a dud....not sure why I get that feeling. |

2 first rounders to move up a few spots.....thats steep - bradster
If you think the guy you’re moving up for is going to be a #1 defenseman it’s not steep at all. Look back at what they traded for a 35 year old Chris Pronger. Two 1sts, Sbisa (previous seasons 1st rd pk), Lupul, and a 3rd rd pk. |

I have little doubt that Briere will draft 1 of the Russians if he could. I lean towards him taking Silayev over Demidov. |

After watching Eiserman snipe goal after goal at the WJC-18, I would be very excited to see him here. Get Michkov to feed him pucks and I can see Eiserman being a prolific scorer. PLay them on each side of Couturier for his defensive acumen. He wont have to worry about scoring with those two running wild in the offensive zone.

They really need York and Drysdale to develop into at least a #2 and a #3. They need to draft a true #1 D or none of it really matters. If they can get a 1D and Drysdale can develop, you can pair York or Drysdale with that #1. Then you’ll have Bonk coming up as hopefully no less than a #4. That would give you a solid top 4. But right now, York is the only one of those things that’s remotely close. |
