That would depend how much Detroit likes Farabee. He's still young (24) and in an upward progression and like you said cost controlled.

Depends how quick Detroit really wants to take the next step if they would be willing to part with #15 for him. I would hate to see Farabee go, but I feel that would trigger the Flyers to re-sign TK.

I think a lot would depend on who the Flyers pick at 12. If they take Eiserman no need to resign Konecny even with a Farabee trade. Eiserman and Michkov would likely be joining the team at the same time and neither is going to be spending time in the AHL.

There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY they give up this years 1st (7th) and most likely the deal would involve either Chabot (injuries @ 8m) or Norris (injuries @ 7.95m)...no thanks. They really don't have anything else that would really help the team.

They gave up the 7th a couple years ago for DeBrincat. I think you put TK together with a few other pieces to try and get that 2024 1st. You have Laughton, Risto, Brink, Farabee, Zamula, Attard, Four 2nds over the next 2 years. There’s gotta be a deal they can make. Chychrun doesn’t seem keen on signing there so they may be looking for defense too.

Chabot is owed 30 million over the next 3 yrs of the contract. Not a surprise, OTT who isn't exactly a huge revenue team. As a comparison, Risto owed 16 million over the next 3 yrs. Not suggesting a trade.

It’s interesting going back and looking at draft profiles of star players. I was looking at the Dallas players like Robertson who had his skating questioned, Heiskanen had size/weight/physicality concerns. Makar had similar concerns as Heiskanen. Debrincat, Caufield, and Point all dropped because of size concerns. At this point in their draft year Makar and Heiskanen were ranked all over the top 10 and weren’t consensus top 5 picks.

The race for first overall was between Nico and Nolan. Makar was considered a bit of a reach at #4. By the draft day Heiskenen was expected top 5, but the first overall for the final 5 months of hockey was between Patrick and Nico.

I had read at the time, that Heiskenen was one of the guys the Flyers were considering, but I believe Clarke came out and said what he said as a shot at Hextall. Who would have Clarke pushed for at the time? A not so physical, Finnish blueliner, or the 6'+ Center from Canada?
