Took the 15 year old for his first spin behind the wheel around a mostly empty parking lot - Fakepartofme
Might as well wait until they are 16, write the test and get the G1. It's a process anyway. Son just got his G2 (or whichever one lets him drive alone).
It's terrifying.

When they can finally drive alone and they take the car, you have unlocked a new level of terror. |

yup. I dont tell them but I flip an equivalent amount into an account for a house down the road - drexel
Wanted to buy my son a civic hatch, '23 or '24.
Insurance is over 11K
We saved for years for his education so that he would not have to worry about it. I am not about to make him work to pay for gas, maintenance, and insurance and having a life, while he is going to school. That defeats the whole purpose of saving for him in the first place.
You can get lower insurance amounts for lesser cars but I wanted something with every possible modern safety feature.
We are not wealthy by any stretch of the imagination, but I realize this is a first world scenario. I just don't think it is as easy as saying if he wants to drive he has to pay. |

Bought my son a new corolla, he needs to drive to U of T regularly. Shopped around for insurance, list him as a secondary driver. Insurance is still high but nowhere near that number. Insurance companies and banks are not your friend.

My son and group of friends (age 30) were very safety conscious especially about alcohol right from the time they first started driving |

I think Wedgie is correct (from the previous thread). We have seen the major change we are going to see this season with Keefe being shot into the Sun (hence the solar flares and aurora).
I think the Leafs keep the "core 5" and shuffle the deck chairs around them this coming season. If the results are still underwhelming, then we see major roster changes for the following year with JT and Marner being up for contracts.
As much as some want to see JT and/or Marner (or Nylander, or Rielly) shot into our nearest star, I don't think it happens yet. - GalacticStone
Are you saying that they don't even ask Marner and JT to move? Or that they ask them, but they say no?

Started with my first kid about 15/20 yrs ago years ago took him to the Ritchie Brothers auction. Anybody in Canada knows Ritchie Brothers auctions Dave Ritchie a legend in the heavy construction auctions.
Anyway, bottom, one of those old puke orange Kiewit pickup trucks. 3K - 164K miles toolbox 4 x 4 told him we donโt have to worry about denying it or anything. All his buddies ended up loving that truck put all their crap in there was awesome.
Ever since then 7 more kids -
straight to Ritchie Brothers for auction truck.๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐๐๐

Why? He has one last shot of being on the Olympic/NHL World Event or whatever's team. Best to play ball to be the 13th forward. |

We need to embrace car wash technology.
You can get drunk and get behind the wheel - you just slowly creep up until your wheels catch the conveyor belt, you put your car in neutral, and it pulls you all the way home. |

I like Tavares but I donโt see any way that he has a shot at either one. Unless he turns it around next season. |
